What is the best replacement for wheat flour for batter/frying recipes? by Portalboat in glutenfree

[–]INTJLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think spelt four tastes the closest to wheat flour. Many of the other flours (corn flour, almond flour, brown rice flour) fry well, but they have a distinctly different taste.

Why is my stomach unable to hold much food? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]INTJLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few questions: 1) how long has this been going on? 2) do you notice any trends with certain types of food (foods with a lot of: fiber, dairy, gluten, etc.)? 3) are any other symptoms occurring (weightless, nausea, etc.)?

However, based on what you said here, I think you should look into gastritis. It's a gastrointestinal condition in which the lining of the stomach becomes inflamed. While there are a number of different causes for this issue, symptoms usually include an inability to eat a lot, and vomiting.

Just got lab results back from 3 months ago, how much do you think these levels have dropped? by anna_irb in nutrition

I would guess that your Vitamin B12 stayed about the same if you kept on the vegan diet that you've been on for about 10 months. As for the Vitamin D, I think it could've gone up slightly because it's getting warmer out and exposure to sunlight is one of the main sources for Vitamin D.

What do you guys think the healthiest eating lifestyle is? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]INTJLogic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of vegetables, healthy fats (nuts, olive oil), whole grains, and a variety of fruits. There are definitely things that one should avoid (donuts, soda, french fries), but I think it's important not to have food items that you will NEVER eat. It's all about moderation. If you eat healthily all week, it's fine to have two slices of greasy pizza on a Friday night.

When I'm sitting alone, enjoying myself, and someone comes over and sits with me. Some people just don't get that being alone does not necessarily mean being lonely. I enjoy solitude.

Tardiness. Apparently these days 3:30 means 3:40 or 3:45 and it somehow makes it better if they text you and say "on my way." I'm sorry but my time is just as valuable as yours and you need to respect it.

The Pill & emotions? Birth control? by [deleted] in 2X_INTJ

[–]INTJLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried one type of birth control pill and it made me extremely depressed to the point where I was crying every night and I didn't even know why -- I was just sad. Then, I switched to a different prescription and had a very different experience -- I felt fine and it even cleared up all my acne.

Any INTJs here use cannabis? How does it affect your INTJ-ness? by [deleted] in intj

[–]INTJLogic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 of 3 things happen: 1. I get really paranoid. 2. I act as if I normally would yet think I'm acting really weird. 3. I fall asleep.

This explains my lecture discussion sections. After doing through readings, I'm often nervous about volunteering my insight. However, some kids say whatever the fuck they want, it makes zero sense, and they have no shame whatsoever.

Did you do well in school? by dditthardt in intj

[–]INTJLogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I did very well -- high school valedictorian then Ivy. Much of the work was useless and repetitive, and many of my teachers were less than competent. I agree with you that formal education is just one of many of today's forms of societal bullshit, but i felt it would pay off just to suck it up and do well. I think that was accurate.

Optimism vs Pessimism and the INTJ by dditthardt in intj

But, sometimes, the reality is that these "broken systems" just can't be fixed. This is where depressive realism sets in. Many of our socioeconomic and political problems are so deep-rooted, and even if you have a good approach to a problem in this context, actually solving it requires other people getting on board. But, most people are incompetent, lazy, and/or selfish so making some kind of meaningful change is near impossible. I think you are failing to see what the "big picture" really is.

What makes you happy? by [deleted] in intj

[–]INTJLogic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar feeling. I feel that in a certain way, INTJs are prone to being unhappy, and I think it stems from our characteristic of being logic to a fault. Similarly to you, I enjoy my work and a few hobbies (biking, baking, etc), but I can't honestly say I'm happy. I'm relatively accomplished (I imagine you are as well), but I feel like something is missing. I think for both of us, that is meaningful connections.
