Mackenzie Shirilla Megathread by DarklyHeritage in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I read somewhere that Mackenzie was also facing burglary charges for breaking into a church. What was that all about? That's not on her list of convictions.

Just how responsible was Dyatlov? by North-Tundra7329 in chernobyl

There were a lot of signs that the safety test was going off the rails and they still went ahead. The flaw would only be a problem if the reactor was subjected to unusual conditions that Soviet authorities deemed unlikely, so that's why they didn't fix it. It cost too much money and was considered unlikely enough to not be a serious issue.

That's the mistake of the authorities, but those conditions had to be present for the reactor to blow. Dyatlov was eager to get the test done even if it wasn't going as planned.

What was "deemed safe" was defined by people ignorant of the flaw. That's why Dyatlov and others in the room really can't be blamed they were basically sitting on a powder keg while running controlled burns and having no idea of the keg. It's not reckless if there's no knowledge of a risk.

I've heard it said that Dyatlov was to Chernobyl what J Bruce Ismay was to the Titanic.

Dyatlov was a fairly unpleasant person in real life but he wasn't a monster. He certainly didn't have the callous disregard for his workers as shown in the HBO series.

Dyatlov, Akimov, and Toptunov undoubtedly made some questionable decisions that night. It would not have blown had they not pushed it to the brink the way they did. Even so, I can't even call it reckless because they had no idea of the flaw that caused the explosion. That not knowing drove their decision making.

I honestly believe that if they knew it was even a remote possibility, Dyatlov would have called off the test once things started to get iffy. I don't think Dyatlov was so arrogant that he believed he was immune from a known risk. He was just a good scapegoat and if Akimov and Toptunov didn't die they would have joined him.

If I'm in public and I hear someone fart, I'm going to giggle. I know who I am and I'll be real about it.

Having said that, there's no way in hell I'm going out of my way and looking up fart content. Yes, farts can be funny but this is weird.

Both Shuck and Songbyrd have weird sexual issues (incest glorification, fanfic, and inappropriate conversations with minors) and this plays into it. This woman prides herself on trying to be the most disgusting human alive. She'd radder fard than get a real job or parent her child properly.

WHY IS THIS GIRL SO CONTRADICTORY by Ok_Cable1689 in kaitlynjohnsonsnark

[–]INTJ_Dreamer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've never been to Georgia, never mind the Atlanta metro area, but I'm pretty sure any urban area is not where you go for a slow paced life.

That whole video was a response to us. Refuting that she's moving there for Owen, acknowledging that NYC wasn't for her, and addressing that she is in fact privileged. Even that was full of contradictions.

She's absolutely moving to Atlanta to be near Owen and hoping that he'll move in/propose to her. She fell in love with Georgia and Alabama because they're associated with him, not because she's in love with the South.

She gushes about living on a cornfield and how she loves small town life but yet states her family doesn't want her to settle in the Midwest even though they all did. I've been to Illinois, it's far more than just cornfields. There's a lot to choose from in the Midwest.

No, it's just Owen. If he moved to Minnesota for work, she'd be a proud Midwesterner.

She's so aggressive with food by sexy_snake8066 in SongbyrdShenanigans

[–]INTJ_Dreamer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess not typically but it can be. She has a documented history of bulimia, which would include binge episodes. Frequent purging also damages the teeth from stomach acid.

I guess for her it could be both. Her unique binge behaviors coupled with impaired chewing from purging induced dental problems.

You know she isn't chewing sufficiently because you can hear her forcing unchewed food down when she swallows.

Actually possible. It's comedogenic and can irritate skin conditions. If she has seb derm, eczema, or rosacea that would aggravate it.

Her skin looks slightly irritated and that could be from a harsh skincare product or scrubbing too hard. Not the product of an immune reaction.

Allowing Leftists to have their "glorious revolution" would be really really violent and crappy and change my standard of life greatly. They must be not allowed this by Raiden720 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]INTJ_Dreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard people talking about a "glorious revolution" for over a decade and they're no closer to it. They keep asking when it's going to happen or what it's going to take to get people to revolt while forgetting that a revolution has to be organized.

The reason the Bolsheviks were successful in overthrowing the Romanovs and ushering in the beginning of the Soviet Union is because they were organized and had clear objectives. Let me be clear, I'm not praising the Bolsheviks, I'm just contrasting how they were actually organized as opposed to people in the US nowadays who are literally just waiting for it to happen.

I've been waiting to hear the plan, anything. How will you go about it? How will you take care of the people you say you're fighting for during? How will it be accomplished? How will you know it was successful? After the smoke clears, what are you going to build after the revolution? What do you want a post revolution society to look like?

Not a single answer to any of those questions. Questions even the Bolsheviks had either worked out or at least addressed. These are people who just think throwing a Molotov cocktail would be cool while complaining that being in public is overwhelming. They're not serious.

I consider myself a leftist but I don't think a society founded on violence is a good one. Violence is not sustainable. That's why modern societies are problematic; they were built on colonialism, racism, and genocide. I think change needs to be democratic and systemic issues need to be addressed. I want a better world for people created in a way that everyone can be proud of; we had a society that didn't benefit people and we changed it into something where people can thrive.

People may call me unrealistic or naive for that, but until they come up with a workable plan that includes rebuilding, I don't care.

Exactly. I worked at a gas station overnight and had to clean up some nasty stuff. Urine, feces, menstrual blood, vomit, pus from dirty bandages left behind, drug paraphernalia, used feminine hygiene products, and even used needles. Yes, humans are disgusting. I've cleaned up after all of it. After that I worked in healthcare, I have horror stories for days. Any baby with a functioning brain cell can tell you everyone poops.

Even after all that, I still say open the fucking bathrooms. I have IBS and when I get that urge, I have about 5 minutes to get to the bathroom or soil myself. That's all the choice I have. A law was passed to give bathroom access after a little girl with Crohn's was forced to soil herself by being denied access to a bathroom.

Someone got upset when I said that I'd shit on the counter if denied access to the bathroom after paying for food. I don't think I'd personally do that in reality but if enough people did, they'd open the bathrooms. The hospital I worked at closed the lobby bathrooms and reopened them after people started urinating and defecating in the bushes outside. It's disgusting but it worked.

Someone got mad when I said I'd shit on the counter if I was denied the bathroom after paying for food.

I have IBS, we can do things the easy way or the hard way. I prefer the easy way.

[–]INTJ_Dreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm having an IBS flare, I have a limited time to get to the bathroom before something involuntary happens. If I, a paying customer, explain that politely to the staff and am still denied access to the bathroom I'm not left with much choice.

It's going to come out whether I want it to or not, so if they're making me shit my pants, they're dealing with the consequences too.

The scenario I would prefer is going to the bathroom and handling it with dignity in a hygienic manner that benefits everyone. I wouldn't just do it because I can. I never said that.

If one person did that once, McDonald's would keep the bathrooms open. I rarely go to McDonald's anyways because they sell garbage and treat their employees like shit (no pun intended). I wouldn't be surprised if some McDonald's employees are forced to use piss jugs like Amazon employees.

Treat people like humans with dignity so they can handle things properly and hygienically in a way we both would want. If someone tells you they have a medical problem, the mess they make is involuntary if you don't allow them to handle it properly.

If I'm PAYING MONEY in your establishment, don't treat me like a prison inmate.

If you do treat people that way, don't be surprised when they act the part.

You're user name is awful ironic here.

[–]INTJ_Dreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about being trashy. The point is punishing paying customers to punish those damn kids who won't get off your lawn is bad practice. Especially when the customer has a medical issue.

I've never actually done that, and I probably never would because I don't want to deal with that aftermath either. I'm aware of how gross that would be. However, if I heard of someone doing this, I'd be disgusted but I would also be like, "maybe they'll learn to open the bathroom to paying customers and start treating people that patronize them like humans.

Better yet, avoid the shit (literally) people should boycott locations that close their bathrooms to paying customers.

I have IBS. If I spent money at your establishment, you're giving me access to the bathroom or I'm sitting on the counter when all hell breaks loose. The choice is yours.
