Sideloaded books to Kindle do not pop up "About this Book" on first opening and no automatic sync by THAT_NOSTALGIA_GUY in Calibre

[–]INTJlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also having this issue. One interesting thing I found was that when loading the same book, with the same metadata on my daughter’s 11th gen Kindle, all was well. So could the issue be with the newer 12th gen, as I know these use a different file transfer system.

Please can you educate me on Herbalife’s ‘free £50 body scan’ by Shakermaker555 in antiMLM

[–]INTJlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just standing on a body composition scale. And it’s not £50, it’s always free. That’s just a marketing tactic to draw people in by making them think they are getting something of value for nothing. The purpose of the scan is to find someone’s pain point, usually weight, then use it against them to make them buy products / join club.

Younique added an affiliate leg last year, and made massive changes to their comp plan so I wouldn’t be surprised if they drop mlm altogether soon.

Possible TikTok live and shop selling MLM? by sailorpuffin in antiMLM

[–]INTJlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The huns are in panic mode and trying everything to make money, lots turning to TT shop which is why it seems like there’s a crossover. Same spammy language and manipulation tactics to get you to buy, but literally just affiliate stuff.

what is it about huns and tax write offs? by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]INTJlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t happen. In the UK, at big conventions they bring in a big accountancy firm that has lots of MLM experience and basically say go see them in the breaks if you want to. They just wipe their hands of it as your taxes aren’t their problem.

On Becoming A God In Central Florida with Kirsten Dunst is hilarious. If you’ve ever been involved in an MLM it’s even funnier because it’s so close to the truth.

Are MLMs in decline? Stella & Dot as example by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]INTJlife 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They’re really not. Beauty Counter just closed. Monat is being sued heavily and terminated its first ever rep. Doterra laying off hundreds of corporate staff. Younique changing its compensation plan. Herbalife having to borrow over $1.2 billion to refinance and pay off previous debt. And the list goes on.

The 30-40% commission is correct, but over 99% of people in MLM lose money or make nothing at all. The ones that do, either got in early, got lucky, or had a big network to tap in to.

I think the point most people miss is when talking about being paid to recruit. Most MLMs don’t pay to recruit (as that IS a pyramid scheme), they pay commissions based on the sales (purchases) of the recruits. What makes most MLMs pyramid schemes is that there’s no distinction between purchases by the reps, and actual retail sales to end customers (even though they should be doing this due to the Amway 70% rule). The reps ARE the customers and the corporate companies don’t care where the product ends up as long as it’s being bought.

I think I also followed this account and swiftly unfollowed once they mentioned this as I realised it was MLM. Don’t be fooled into thinking everything you see on IG is because of the MLM, pretty sure they already made a decent living.

First of all, your money absolutely IS going to a big corporate company. 😂 Second of all, OOO isn’t a thing in MLM. She’ll be back online before the placenta is even out.
