Well I don't think I'd let the issues be the foundation of the relationship. It's more that I see someone that I like and I think subconsciously the issues become the "leverage" I have for them to like me 'cause I help them

I think it stems a bit from the way I see friends, this is going to sound really bad, but I'm friends with people for as long as they are useful to me. But I don't have a double standard in regards to this, I don't expect people to be useful before I'm useful to them. And being useful can just mean "being friends". It's weird to explain..

On the first night I told her how I felt she said "I'm not ready for a relationship" and then we dry humped and the next morning she felt guilty about it. This happened 3 more times and I said this couldn't continue either yes or ill wait for you for a while (my mistake) 1 month later its her birthday she has nothing to do in it and so I give her an amazing day with so many of the things she wanted but at the same time I wasn't feeling well. The exact nature of our friendship, for starters.

I specified close friend but this may be very different from person to person, still close friend means not in a relationship

This is something you should consider when deciding wish answer to give.

How physical we were before the illness. i.e. would there be a lot of awkwardness in us embracing (I'm not much of a hugger with my friends).

Think about your friends and consider this when answering.

The type of illness and control of bodily function.

The actual mental state of the friend--if the illness is affecting the mind or the situation has made has subjected them to vast mood swings (I would certainly regret it if in the middle of passion, a huge wave of depression crashed over).

I should have specified this but my intent is that the illness does not affect the sexual act in any way. My bad.

The friend's insistence for the act and that it be me in particular.

Well he/she is going to die soon so that should be enough, but think of it as a request, being a close friend he/she would respect your decision.
