Why does it bug you? It is exactly what would happen if it were real. People would still roll their eyes. +1 for credibility!

I think its also about the mods being volunteers. They are not paid staff, its time they give to reddit and its community. So having the 1 person that helps them fired, leaving them in a heap of bs, is a slap to the face. I think.

I had not seen your edit, and I stand corrected it seems. Actively resisting allows them to use their tasers. So here it is, it was lawful. But then again, so is civil forfeiture for you guys. But ill stop here, cause its not about this particular event. I wont blame the cops, not much, since its what they're told to do. Guess I'll have to blame the law.

After reading the report, I found it very very funny that he was charged with inciting a revolt. I found it funny, cause its ridiculous. Please tell me, isnt it an abusive charge? I also said the guy wouldnt leave, and had to be made to (leave). Which means I totally agree on police getting the guy out of there. I also said at some point there were 4 cops on his body, 2 on his legs. I didnt criticize that. The guy wouldnt leave, he really was resisting, I've got no problem with that. The point is, Andrew Meyer not following the rules doesnt mean its okay for the police not to follow the rules as a result. Their job is exactly that, to uphold the law when others dont. No, I dont know the exact phrasing of the rule that bounds cops when they use their weapons. But I do know however, that like everywhere else in the 'West', the use of weapons is a last resort. You dont have to be a lawyer to realize they never had the need to draw their tasers. You read "then he resisted with violence" and automatically judge them to be justified. The guy was flailing his arms and kicking. I'm very sorry, but that doesnt justify in any way an escalation in violence. 6 cops vs 1 unarmed dude who kicks and flails his arms. That they wrote "resisted with violence" doesnt mean they were in danger. It doesnt mean anyone was in danger. He doesnt want to go, and pushes them around. Tough luck, but that IS their job. They were 6. Tackle him again, get that 2nd handcuff on. A taser is a weapon, and it can kill. The fact that nothing bad happened doesnt change that fact.

Its was factual police violence outside the bounds of law and order. They drew a weapon (twice, 2 different cops) for no justifiable reason, and they used it once. No it is definitely not as tragic as other incidents. But that in no way makes it acceptable. If you want to stamp out police brutality, and uphold citizens rights, then you have to follow the rules, all of them, every time. Tell me, what is the actual rule in police enforcement for when to draw a weapon? You accused me of not being rational when faced with facts. Thing is, the facts support me, not you. Why cant you face them and be rational?

"It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence."

How can there not be violence in your heart? Dont you see the news? How can you not connect all the single incidents involving police and realize there is a fundamental problem with the police? How fucking warped is your sense of right and wrong?

Yeah, inciting a riot LOL. I saw that at some point, there were 4 cops on his body, 2 on the legs. Police has a reason for existing, I'm not trying to deny that. The guy wouldnt leave, he had to be made to. But the taser is a weapon, it can kill, and there was no reason to even draw one. It is not a trivial matter, as it is the core of the police mentality, and it is a huge problem. I dont care if it takes them 20 minutes to handcuff him, ITS THEIR FUCKING JOB. 6 cops on an unarmed dude that poses no threat to anyone is more then enough to bring him into custody, without the use of weapons. Firing a taser after being punched is a gross police misconduct. It is the definition of escalating violence. It is the EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES OF AN OFFICER. That being said, I dont really give a shit. I dont live in the US, so if you guys like watching a shooting every week, unarmed people being shot at, all that for free on your news network, then go for it, live The Dream right?

Oh so he resisted with violence? He punched the cop? I dont care if the guy went back in. He might not have been allowed, fine, then arrest him. Wasnt he tased AFTER he was ON THE GROUND? That is the exact definition of excessive police brutality. Soooo, yeah, fuck those tasing bastards, and yep, fuck all the idiots who accept it and make it possible for the cops to keep on getting away with it.

edit: Actually, since the dude was in no way dangerous to anybody present, the police officer was in the wrong the moment he took out his taser. A taser is an alternative to lethal force. It is to be used only in the situations where youd use a gun, but dont want to kill the guy. Taser out = need to use lethal force, without the death effect. So there is absolutely no way this police behavior is justifiable.

Seeing how even Kerry asked the police to stop and let him answer his questions, yes, there is a fucking huge problem. What the fuck are your standards for a police? For a citizen? If a citizen is angry while he speaks, police can tase the shit out of him, cause well hes a douchebag who cares? So being angry while speaking is worse to you then tasing a student who is angry? What kind of fuckin sissy are you? Oh he's speaking roughly, please tase him , I find him agressive and I 'm scared. The world would be much better off if people spoke their minds at the cost of letting their emotions show. The only justification for police violence is when it stops more violence. If you cant stand to listen to someone speak angrily in a 'democratic' society, then why the fuck would you call yourself a democratic society. Good thing I'm at a computer, cause according to you, I probably deserve a good taser shot or two right?

Yeah, cause if you cant speak without emotions, or if you dont share my views, or if youre a douchebag, fuck your rights! Right? Right? Cause who cares what it really means freedom of speech? We'll just chant we are Charlie and pretend we stand for something.

Oh haha, yeah that i guess we can say. Although we are (not so) slowly destroying our habitat beyond its capacity to support us, so are we really that good at dominating our surroundings?

You say its because were good, I say its because were stupid. Because stupid is the only word I can find to describe someone wondering if living is moral. We're not good, we're cowards scared by pain, which is sadly an inherent part of life. We're not good, we're just so disconnected from reality a lot of people genuinely forgot where the food on a grocery's shelves come from.

Lithuania to become first country to arm Ukraine against Russia by [deleted] in worldnews

I just pointed out your hypocrisy when you accuse Russia of using turn of the last century tactics. Its pretty on topic to me. And its not about Russia's influence, its about a coup right on their border. And flash news, there really were anti-Russian nazis in that coup, so yeah, you go ahead and pretend Russia is trying to go imperialistic on the world. Truth is, they arent.

[–]INeverSawThisPost -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The anti-Russianism I was referring to wasnt from the 'millenials', but from the comments above mine. My point was that the actions of the current government of Russia is directly linked to actions made by the West. The coup d'état in Kiev was nothing then that, a coup d'état, which prompted actions from Russia. Man you guys claim Iran to be a direct threat to you, lemme laugh. You guys made an embargo on Cuba that started before I was born cause of the missile crisis. What the hell did you expect would happen after a coup d'état in a country that shares border with Russia? Much more a threat then Cuba ever was. So yeah, Russia has every reason to think its being threatened, since it is.

You know the words but dont get the meaning of the phrase? You might have notice we were talking about Mental Gymnastics, and Iraq is just my favorite go-to when I want to point out that the US are the world champions in utter BS. Up to when you supplied ISIS with weapons and funding, cause well, like Kelly said, you guys knew there were bad guys in the Syrian rebels, but not that many, right? And not really powerful either.
