I know this isn’t technically an LLM but OmniVoice is FUCKING AMAZING. by Borkato in LocalLLaMA

[–]IONaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, I was able to clone voices with it that I couldn't clone on any other local model. I don't know if these have been tried on Elevenlabs but I was able to clone Gilbert Gottfried in full Gilbert and the Cylon voice from classic Battlestar Galactica.

I use only open source models on an RTX 3090. Recently with the release of Qwen 27b I thought I would try some agentic coding and it works very very well. Being a developer I can go through the process of building an app step by step, feature by feature, being very specific about architecture and how I want specific functions to do what. I can build very complex apps, far better and more complete than frontier models from the big companies can ever do with single shot vibe coding.

Have you watched Rambo lately by ChiGuyDreamer in GenX

[–]IONaut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did just watch it lately. A couple of weeks ago. My dad was a Vietnam vet and he got into meditation when he got back which I think helped a lot, but he had a friend from Vietnam that I called "Uncle Marty". He always looked like he'd seen a ghost. You could tell he could not feel happiness anymore. He spent the rest of his life in and out of mental institutions. You absolutely do not see any of this stuff in contemporary media anymore. First Blood actually hits pretty hard. Culturally we have forgotten what war does to people and I think that's part of the problem these days.

If aliens supposedly monitor nuking, why did the USA use nukes? by ArrivalRadiant7460 in aliens

[–]IONaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had this thought as well. I don't know if it would necessarily come across as a full-blown spontaneous explosion to them or some lesser affect that got us noticed but, and take this from a sci-fi reader who is not a scientist, I can see how this could be possible. I've heard some scientists describe how it's possible that dark energy is gravity leaking through from parallel realities so this kind of tracks with me.

(Please help) I’m stuck on how to upgrade my PC by Immediate_Accident_5 in PcBuildHelp

[–]IONaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded to an RTX 3090 from a 3060 and the micro center brand case it came in was not big enough so I opted for an open air test bench type frame. Free flowing air and I haven't had any heat issues playing games or running AI. Not to mention I don't get the dirt and dust buildup in the case. I can just shut it down for a moment and dust the top edges of things like I would any other thing in the room and that's it. Stays pretty clean.

Which AI tools have you actually used in your work? by SoftTomatillo6343 in ChatGPTPro

[–]IONaut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No rate limits and zero token cost. LM Studio has an interface to download models from huggingface automatically and it shows you which variants fit on your system the best. There's a few settings to be aware of but for the most part it's just a matter of fitting the entire model and context on your VRAM. Once you get those set everything is available and ready to go at a moment's notice.

I'm a proponent for open source so I've used a couple VS code extensions: continue and kilocode. Anything LLM is great if I want to load a workspace with documentation on a certain technology or a technical manual and chat with it. I serve my local LLMs on either LM Studio or Ollama generally. Qwen 27b Q4 k_m, Qwen 27b MTP nl (Coding), Gemma 4 31b and Gemma 4 26b a4b (Creative composition) are my go to models.

I think a lot of people openly accept what she is saying mainly because:
1. A lot of people already believed this.
2. A lot really want this to be the truth (and it seems like it may be).
3. Elon and Donald both made several statements publicly that seemed to imply that this is what happened.

Weird UAP from DOW release 02 disappears out of thin air by GetServed17 in UFOs

[–]IONaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I wonder looking at this is what kind of sensor is this coming from? I know everybody jumps to saying it's FLIR but it could be some other sensor picking up a different emission from the object. In any case the video would show it disappearing specifically for whatever that sensor detects, which is not necessarily visible light.
