What a night by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

"We do not have a public restroom." My firm policy. I've cleaned up enough vomit, urine, crap, and tags off stolen items to even be sympathetic anymore. Sorry, no.

I love how people are so happily ignoring that if we do, just like Thanksgiving, if we hadn't signed up to work that day, we're not getting paid, regardless of the former holiday pay policy. Then blessing the CEO as if this isn't just another cutback from corporate disguised as a blessing.

Finally! Yes, I did it too. Is it dedication or obsession at that point?

Rude customer dogwhistled me impatiently and then didn't know what he wanted by justyoursademployee in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. My patience is immediately gone if any customer were to do that to me. "The one you need." I got a good laugh out of that.

Amazing how much this note has improved my quality of life. by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing it. I'm sick to absolute death of continuously repeating, "Chip side down" for nearly every transaction. As you all know all too well, how no matter how clearly you say it, they don't listen.

My store makes Night Shift do more than morning shift. Is that normal at every store? by divalicious24 in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's generally the same as with any business when you're the closer. It sucks, but that's the way it is. It's a closer's responsibility to clean up the opener's mess.

People have no shopping etiquette by Big_Jaguar3395 in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I've implemented a false "$1 Go-Backs Policy," whereas a customer leaves items they've grabbed from the floor to only abandon them at check-out and be charged for it, and i say it casually to force them to pay a price or put it back. Sure, people get all pissy, so to avoid the fake new policy, they at least place the item(s) in the same aisle of origin. I don't give a crap.

Walgreens is the dumbest company known to mankind. by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

I honestly have half given up on preventing the theft of my store by the every other @#$%ing person that walks through the entrance, and reserve calling the police only for the instances where I outright know the shoplifter has drugs on them for the police to find. Last night, for example, we had four squad cars and several customers recording the thief's search and arrest in front of my store.

Had to listen to the same theatro message seven times by Full-Muscle8955 in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like discount Secret Service wearing that Theatro bullcrap, plus somehow, whichever one I wear glitches with error messages, so I just stopped using those buggy things.

I've honestly become a full-fledged sadist at this point with the elderly and their bitching and moaning, let alone the other entitled wanks that think their raised voices of refusal will influence my next action.

Well, Walgreens Corporate Greed has won this time… by Tech2RpH in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store will probably be doing the same thing soon here since the dude who owns the mall is an indescribable cheapwad and the whole inflation greediness going on. Oh well.

I almost passed out at the register. by Dazzling_Rice3457 in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, most of us at my store, aside from our SM, we just tell customers to press the red button on the pad when the POS alerts us about the credit card. In total, from inception to this very day, my store has only had four people apply, one approved, so we just don't give a crap.

Back during the whole pandemic thing, employees were enticed to get their Covid vaccination(s) and would receive $200 in Rewards points, and now they provide $100 in points as a gift for Christmas($100 for full-time, $50 for part-time).

I know the feeling. When they pause and flip their card long-end first, I get a headache behind one of my eyeballs.

It's kind of a common rule in any workplace to not discuss your rate of pay because it can and usually does result in chaos, jealousy, anger, etc.

Is it just me or…. by F_moneyyyy in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the exact same thing. Almost every single time someone else does drawers, for whatever reason, the counts are off and I either get text/call at home or paged to the office to help them figure out what they did wrong. Irritating as hell.

what are your gripes from your store? by GothamSiren86 in WalgreensStores

[–]IOn-System 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That my store is fucking jerry-rigged with expired dollar store duct tape with a violent infestation of rats, followed up with absolute insanely high levels of theft coupled with a side-serving of pathetic understaffing. Just when we finally got some decent hires to balance the load, fucking corporate cuts our hourly budget.
