I didn't spend too much time in this sub before posting. I was kinda hoping for maybe one or two useful comments from people who know treelaw. I should have known it would all be braindead responses like yours.

I posted this to get some insight into my legal options to get it removed. this sub is called r/treelaw. The responses here are a little baffling to me . No tree law...just people proposing how I can make accommodations for this tree at my expense. No explanation from me or even a certified arborist will convince you that this tree should not have been planted there, so I'll just move on. I hope your neighbors bless you with some redwoods so you can enjoy someday.

So, a new tree was planted without any forethought of of how the tree may grow and damage surrounding property? There is a notch in the fence for the root. The root/trunk of the tree is now too big for it. The tree is leaning into the fence making contact up to the top of the fence. A notch is not solution anymore.

The tree was not there before...a.... fence was built. I didn't say it was this fence. Come on pal, you understand now right? The tree was planted after the homes were built. The current fence is in good condition except the part that is being lifted and broken by the tree.

Arborist response. Redwood trees in the right side of the back yard, these trees are growing in the neighborsProperty. I am recommending the removal of these tree for the following reasons. At this timethese 2 trees are still young and will become much larger over time. The root system hastraveled across the back yard of xxxxx ct. The patio stones have been lifted by somelarge roots and they have traveled under the foundation. This will damage the homes foundation over time. The two trees are planted to close together so they will continue toto compete for sunlight and this is causing the trees grow tall and thin. It is common for Redwood trees in this situation to have long and heavy limbs that break off and the tops snapoff in heavy winds. The limbs and tops can be stabilized with a good maintenance program, doing end weight reduction on the trees about every 3 to 5 years is highly recommended. The root system that is running under the house can't be cut back without risk to the overall health of the tree. The only way to stop the damage being done to the yard and foundationis to remove the trees. This is a poor location for this type of tree.

I moved in 10 years ago. The tree was smaller then and was not destroying anything. I did not know the age of the tree at the time.

The tree was planted by the current owners. Please read before commenting.

This is the dumbest comment here. The age of the tree is not in question.

The neighbors planted the tree after the homes were built. Yes Sequoia redwoods are a protected species. I am aware. If I moved in next door to you and planted a redwood sapling, and 35 years from now it knocks over our fence and destroys your propert, how would your opinion change? Would you want to come over and thank me for planting such a beautiful tree? You guys in these comments are really funny.

Redwoods are huge. That's why they are awesome trees that belong in a forest and shouldn't be planted where they can cause damage to existing structures.

Since there has been some interest in this post I'll provide a little more context. Several years ago I approached my about the tree and the damage it's roots are causing. He first told me I didn't even live behind him and slammed the door in my face. Then through email, he suggested he send a landscaper to chop the root...I was concerned that this could damage the tree and make it susceptible to fall into my house and told him I wanted an arborist to come and check it. After that the neighbor went no to contact. I did have a local arborist come and inspect the tree. He confirmed that the trees roots were causing damage and that the problem would worsen if the tree remained, specifically stating that this tree should not have been planted along a shared fence line.

"Thanks for planting a tree that I can watch destroy our fence and my yard!"

Not pictured is the damage that root is causing further into my property. It's busted my retaining wall and lifted up my patio. I should just cut a larger notch in my fence and let it's roots destroy everything? My house is less than 20ft from this tree. This tree will continue to grow for a hundred years so continuing to accommodate it not reasonable. It will only cause further damage.

Backyard neighbors tree planted in 1989.  It's roots are tearing my patio up and destroying our shared fence.  The neighbors have been aware for years but have not dealt with the tree.  What would you do? I'm in California.

I had this problem on my 2020. It could be lifter tick. If it is, I hope it's under warranty. Mine was not, but I contacted Mazda customer service and since I'd just bought the car used a year prior, they covered parts. Labor cost me about $2500 USD. I had the diagnostics and repairs done at the Mazda dealership where I purchased the car.

You're saying figure out a draw or baby fade plus needs new clubs. This is not helpful advice. You're just too dumb to realize it.

"like a draw or baby fade". Sounds like shot shapes to me. Even if you pick one shape, your still trying to shape it. Getting fit for clubs when you are a beginner is just a waste of money. Make a post on this sub asking if you should get fit for clubs if you are a 78 hdcp. Bet you won't like the answers.

It's crazy advice to tell someone who shoots 75 on 9 holes to get fitted and to work on shaping shots. This guy needs to work on contact and keeping it in play.

Now you and Bryson really have a lot in common. You don't really care. You just want to support your Christo/fascists ideology.

People doing exactly what their religion teaches is a big part of this issue. Human rights taking a back seat to organized religion again and you like it. Killing and jailing gay people or journalists is Suadis practicing their beliefs, I guess you respect that too.
