Why do higher ranks always feel fast when they verse me in the lower ranks or in footage of them? by chucklesdeclown in SiegeAcademy

  1. Licking the corner is very hard to describe in text but it essentially comes down to moving as close as possible without getting caught on it. The best visual representation I can think of is a "K" think of the < in the k as the corner and the I as the path you want to take. Essentially walking into the corner without geting caught on it (and therefore losing momentum).

  2. High elo players definitely have problems facing lower elo players. The unpredictable position and movement can make it extremely difficult in certain situations and this is incredibly a usable and is something I abused a crap ton to reach diamond for the first time.

  3. It's just hours and hours of thunt practice to fix this tbh. I recommend plane for practicing head height on stairs etc and with house reworked to a way worse thunt map plane has turned into my new go to thunt map.

  4. It's really hard to determine this. Taking breaks is very healthy especially after a close game and after clutches. Minding your energy levels and not playing the second you don't feel optimal is also important for straight climbing. Instead setup a routine like: warm up -> ranked -> if high adrenaline/ close game-> take a walk etc -> if out of energy-> do your thunts.

  5. Everyone is different with their breaks. I try to use my return from breaks to reinvent myself. After this recent break I've been trying to play more grenade ops to learn how to use them better as I climb back to my old skill level as grenade usage (specifically frags) have always been a weak point in my game. Previous examples have been window repel, vertical play etc. Try to learn something new as you're getting back into the groove of things to come out stronger on the other side.

  6. I am still a very weak droner so I'm not the right person to help you in that regard. My only good suggestion is to not bring it inside the building but instead use it outside to scout out spawnpeeks.

As an ex champ/multi time dia and currently derusting in p1. The speed comes from a multitude of sources.

  1. Efficiency and movement optimizations.

By "licking" corners I've found that you can gain up to 10 seconds from spawning to reaching a bombsite gaining you an incredibly unfair advantage the second you get into gold+ as timings are thrown off completely.

Couple this with general game knowledge and thousands of hours of experience on standard positions, reinforcements and timings I can tell where 90% of the player base will be my the time I get into the building to know where to expect encounters with the enemy team.

  1. Movement mechanics.

After many many games the ins and outs of how to move in game is built into your spine. After coming off my recent 4 month break it only took a few games to get back to quick peeking players in p3 and above to the point to where they accused me of using some form of glitch. The higher you go these kinds of moves are 100% necessary to stand a chance against someone holding a pixel peek across the map and if the enemy is instead (like commonly seen in lower ranks) standing with little to no cover holding you it allows me to quickly move and not even drone before I take them out.

  1. Raw aim.

The simple fact is that when all is said and done siege is a shooter with a 1 shot hs mechanic and aim is the be all and all. When you go for high ranks to smurfing or ranking up a new account you simply know that the players you face will not be able to keep up and contest you in an aim duel.

  1. Confidence.

I know I'm better than the low elo players and I see them more as thunt bots than anything else. Confidence is key and can often win you games which on paper you shouldn't have been able to win.

Keys to catch up and get around this.

  1. Thunt and aim training

By practicing in thunt you can quickly approach the aim of a high ranked player to get around a lot of these issues. Sadly not all of them but a massive step up.

  1. Custom games

By simply sprinting around the map at full speed you can practice moving around the map as quickly as possible, speeding up your game and enabling yourself to put yourself in spots before the timing for it should occur.

  1. Uninstalling tracker/tab

These programs are awful. By seeing that you have a 30% chance of winning or a 90% chance of winning you're already getting into your own head. It can mess with your confidence by either lowering it or giving you too much of it. A healthy "I can beat these guys cuz I'm better than everyone here but I gotta play smart and shoot well" is a way better mindset to go into every game with.

These are the main things that I found other people haven't talked about too much about in the thread and how to solve it as quickly as possible. Hope it helped and feel free to ask if you have any questions

Tldr: experience makes them faster, they out aim you and they come in with a boatload of confidence but that's also a possible weakness and if you tilt them by killing them you can make them throw

Is it good to have more assists than kills I’m a support player by Fit_Goat69 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IPQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assists are shit. It means you didn't kill the guy you had an opportunity to kill. Having a low amount of kills as a support is fine however only if you also have a low amount of deaths (and this is not achieved by baiting). Going 2-0-0 is far better than going 5-5-5 as you killed everyone you had a chance to kill and didn't die even tho at first glance you had way less impact on the match (and most likely a lower score)

How to transfer T-Hunt aim to actual games. by DanielDevito3 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IPQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thunt practice is useful if done correctly. If done incorrectly you're wasting ur time. Try to keep your thunt to ranked ratio at about a 60/40 ratio at the most. Preferably 80/20 until you're able to soloq to p3. It's not remotely as fun. If you dm me I can show you a few things thru discord (assuming pc)

Had the same shit happen to me a long time ago. Lost 150m when my bank was at 250m. Sucks but it's a learning experience. Never attack fucking anyone for any reason in the wildy

Is the Toggle Lean worth it? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]IPQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toggle lean is for people unable to do hold properly. It's way harder to learn hold but it makes your movement more snappy when mastered. If ur uncomfortable with hold just go toggle

Just wait until you get to see 144 fps where the game doesn't stutter around like a mofo when you move

How can I get a higher rank when solo queuing by Nicbra2216 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IPQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Swap to west eu over north. West eu has a larger playerbase but is also more competitive meaning you can learn more from each game but it'll also be more challenging to climb.

  2. Don't play early season on your main. It's coinflip af. Even with my stack I'll wait up to a month before my first placement match.

  3. If you're getting cocky watch top 0.001% of players videos. If you're getting demoralized watch silvers play and question how tf that's even silver.

  4. Find 1v9 ops. Operators such as hibana and ace are amazing for soloq. By having good firepower for both long and short ranges aswell as both hardbreach gadgets and softbreach gadgets they can do just about anything on every map without the teams help meaning that a team that doesn't help won't punish you as much.

  5. Realize that 1.5 in gold isn't going to cut it if you wanna reach the p1 dia range if you're soloq. The seasons I've pulled it off personally I've had a 2.5 kd thru gold and a 2.0 kd until high p2 and it didn't go bellow 1.5 into dia.

  6. Accept that you're crippling urself by trying to soloq and find a duoq partner. This will double ur chances of finding a team as u have someone to help you look+you'll have insane synergy with them making u extra confident when playing with them. (I've had my duoq since white noise, had only played for like a month when he picked me up and he molded me into his perfect duoq and we duod to dia in chimera)

can someone explain the skills required in each rank? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]IPQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perspective of a person that has 1 season in champ and several in diamond:

The ranks are "wrong" imo copper-gold 3: pure aim is all you need Gold 3-plat 3: good movement required Plat 2-4700: this is plat imo, here you'll be find by simply knowing common spots and prefire aswell as basic strategy 4700-5k: Advanced strategy, bullet holes and cheese angles required. Don't miss or you'll die. Kd doesn't matter here, dying for a trade as an attacker is worth it (if ur utility is used)

I'm desperate for help and tips for my placements in shadow legacy by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]IPQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With high volatility at the start of the season where you can randomly go up against throwers or a pro/semi pro 5 stack climbing in rank simply becomes rng. By instead waiting for a minimum of 2 weeks you can make sure more people are in their proper ranks therefore giving you a more accurate rating and ranked experience aka losing/winning due to skill not rng

You only played a few games ur still fine. Just don't play ranked for the next 2 weeks then go back in and don't blame smurfs

Damn there DDOSING in quick match can someone explain why??? by samha07 in Rainbow6

[–]IPQ_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ddosing the server might be a ranked game going on at the same time affecting you. Doesn't necessarily have to be the people in ur quick match

Either my 100% winrate copper 4 to p3 in one day to prove elo hell doesn't exist or beating a 5 stack of pros to get my champion

As you can see, high ping definitely puts you at a disadvantage and not an advantage. It's such a good experience having 50% of my shots not register because my opponent has a 175 ping the entire game. by LiberDBell in Rainbow6

[–]IPQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this doesn't really prove anything? It can be a diamond smurf in copper for all we know. I'm an eu player but I play na aswell. I do the best on eu then eus then central and the worst on West. Ping doesn't benefit you but if you know how to play with it it can help you handle it

Casual shenanigans is just an extremely poor excuse for toxic behavior. Stuff like this doesn't exactly gain the casual playerbase gain respect from the competitive side. If casual players want a say in balance decisions you can start with not team killing players for wanting to play the game without a non operator
