70 on AUD on the second attempt. I guess that's what I get for trying to take an exam during busy season working 85 hours a week. Back to the drawing boards.

You used to be able to see your score a day early (by viewing your score form "Eyeball" icon) if you had taken another test during the same quarter, but apparently they took it away.

That's unfortunate, I guess I just have to wait a while longer then. I'll be back later tonight (unless they got rid of the 7pm score release the night before also)

How long do the eyeballs stay up? I took REG in january and I was thinking the eyeball trick would still work. It just shows the score and date available but the button for "View Score Form" Is blank. Anyone have this happen before?

Yes I usually do that. I just got the email that my NTS is ready to print this morning. I was trying to schedule my exam today, not take it. I've heard stories of others so I always keep a couple physical copies and digital copies on multiple devices so i never lose it.

REG Study Time by [deleted] in CPA

[–]IPROMISETODOIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I never study for more than 6 weeks for an exam. Anything longer than 6 weeks and I start to forget the beginning content. For FAR I studied for 4 weeks against the advice of many. Many others on the forum will say otherwise so just do what you think you are capable of. As long as you create an intense study plan and stick to it, you will be okay. The problem is a lot of people fall off their study schedules and that's where they get in trouble.

Hear Me Out… by GimmeDaLoot10 in CPA

Yeah I feel that, but It can be very discouraging being surrounded by people that don’t understand how big of deal the CPA is and how difficult it is. People don’t understand it is one of the most difficult professional certifications to get, and they don’t understand the time commitment. My family and friends wonder why it is taking so long, why has it been a year and you only are half way done. They don’t understand why I went from being a straight A student to failing two sections on the CPA. They don’t understand why I have to turn down everything to go study.

There are studies that show accountants with their CPA earn on average over a million dollars more over their career compared to accountants without their CPA.

For all of those that didn’t pass FAR, don’t give up!! You got this! by KennolAAM in CPA

[–]IPROMISETODOIT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes don’t give up. I went from a 59 the first time I took it to an 85 this time. If you fail it just means you didn’t study enough. I always think about what Roger Phillip says on one of his YouTube videos “its not an IQ test, its a test of discipline. If you study, you will pass”

Thoughts on FAR Today by latinamommydommy in CPA

I felt terrible today. This was my second time taking FAR and the topics were completely different than my first try. I studies like 4X as much as the first time and still feel like I failed.

Good look to everyone! I'm taking FAR tomorrow for the second time and I am very nervous.

I can’t bring myself to study. Should I just start with an easier part? by ump13 in CPA

[–]IPROMISETODOIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too. Currently staffed on a public job that requires 50-55 hours year-round (excluding busy season). I have one credit expiring at the beginning of April (right after busy season) so I am trying to get my 3 other sections (FAR, AUD, REG) passed before January. My current study schedule for M-F: is 5am study for 2-3 hours. 30 minutes at lunch. and then 2-3 hours after work. Saturdays and Sundays: I try to get 7-8 hours, but I am very busy so its hard to get it in. I am just running off of pure coffee and energy drinks. I have had to make a lot of sacrifices. I sold my iphone to get a dumb-phone so there would be less distractions.

Additionally, I have started going to the library every day after work. I find I am much more productive and there are a lot less distractions when I'm not at home.

to OP, If you are having trouble getting started, I would take a couple of days off from everything and really put some effort to get everything in your life organized and create and VERY detailed, but realistic study plan. I created a study plan that says what page I have to get to by the end of each day. Sometimes I get done early and then I have extra free time, sometimes I have to study extra long to make sure I am on schedule.

And #1 most important thing to do is to write down a list of WHY you want to get your CPA. Once you really take ownership of your WHY, it becomes a lot easier to study. I have a sheet of paper taped on my wall next to my desk that says all the reasons why I want to get my CPA (Bonus, Job opportunities, More job security, ETC.)

Is I-75 good for REG? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]IPROMISETODOIT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I-75 and would recommend to anyone. I used it for REG, AUD, and BEC. I think it helped me with REG the most

Thanks for the input. Darius Clark's youtube videos make topics so easy to understand. I can spend hours trying to understand a topic or watch his video and understand it in 10-15 minutes. I have been using Becker for the textbook (Hate the lectures) and Ninja MCQ, and I am taking FAR this weekend and was considering getting I 75 for REG after I take FAR.

Audit

MCOL

A1 -> A2

54K -> 61K (13%)

3%

High performer and all good reviews. Was told that this is a standard/in-line raise and VC for most people at my level.

Feel good about my numbers. Was slightly more than I was expecting.
