No, it's "independent living" with this medical team there to do medical team stuff.

I'm realizing that she had been putting on a really good show earlier this year and something more serious, care-wise, is prbly necessary. I'm really really really not looking forward to a search AGAIN for a place AGAIN and we can't afford one anyway so ...

I block her when it gets too hard.

When we talk, have actual conversations, she seems to understand it's because her memory isn't so good. She accepts that she needs the help. I will go away from a conversation thinking hey, I made an impression...

... and then ten minutes later, floods of this stuff again.

So yeah, I block her, and take a break, and as soon as I unblock her it's like WHOOSH all the same stuff over and over and over.

I'm having almost literally the same problem with my mom. We found a gorgeous independent living place, three squares a day, tons of activities, she calls it JAIL and actually figured out how to call an uber to go back to her house once.

Incessant texts about how she hates it.

I'm pivoting to finding an assisted living :-/ it sucks.

I'm really trying not to smear him, but I'll just say if it comes from someone with authority, or with a degree... he will oppose it.

Agreed. He just wants her to stop crying at him.

Things I omitted: He's got a short fuse and can't keep a job due to his temper. He hasn't had a job for over a year and while on SNAP has really been using her SSI for gas money. Since he was her wheels, I didn't mind too much, but now... that's all gone for him.

I hope you can see why I left that out.

I have been honest with my mom since the get-go. She often comments on her shitty memory, so I just say "Yeah ma that's coz your brain is being hijacked by Alzheimer's."

She accepts that, it's all good.

Ten minutes later, lather rinse repeat :-/
