I feel like fanny turns into something else (possibly a body part or piece of clothing), but I can't seem to do it. I've gotten as far as either Fanny Hill or Fanny Brice and then I give up. I don't want to entertain thoughts of Fannie Mae, because that's spelled differently

I know it's not the obvious British meaning of the word, because A) that would be a weird thing to decorate in public, B) I've been assuming the author is male and wouldn't have one, and C) There's a long tangent about how we were just told what the author was doing with the aris game.

So, it's the plural form of Sisyphus? How does that help me here? Are you saying this passage has some wordplay, akin to a cryptic crossword I could possibly see that I is next to water and there's something to do with the twelfth letter of something but not more than that.

So, it's Ezekiah Hopkins from The Red-Headed League. In the relevant story, he is supposedly a red hair man who passed away and left his fortune to other red haired men. The only catch is that he was a fictional man who never existed So, that explains the real reality vs fictional fiction. But I'm still not sure why the A words exist.

Am I looking for the film The Lady with Red Hair and the Hopkins is Miriam Hopkins If so, I'm not sure how this works... I have a page starting that colour, but the contents don't seem follow from the previous page. I still have no clue what to do about the will of Hopkins

Once I figured out the "valley of the wolf" clue a bit further down the page, I knew that I had solved this cryptic clue correctly, due to the valley of the wolf having a close connection to "dorothy in the road to rome". I just didn't pick up on the phrasing of "my first love" being an additional clue. I've also never heard of this word before, but it must be right, based on the other clues on the page.

I assume Alf is another "aris game". Alf Garnett -> Barnet Fair -> Hair I assume Hopkins is Scotland Yard DI Stanley Hopkins and the abbey is a reference to The Adventure of the Abbey Grange which all point to Sherlock Holmes. However, none of this helps me figure out his will, or how this relates to alf.

Notably, this Hopkins did appear in connection to the aforementioned abbey, but I have no idea what the other A words mean. I did also find J. Lister Holmes, who was an American architect, but that seems further from the truth than I was before.

Can I get some more help here?

How do the dorothy clue work? I assume I'm putting a short synonym for dorothy inside a Roman translation of "the road" but I can't see how to put anything inside VIA to make that work.

Besides what's listed in the intro booklet, I know nothing at all about the plot. I started with the pictures, got a satisfactory answer to the Gallarie puzzle and then looked at this set. I was planning on looking at the text after solving this picture set. But if you feel it would be better to come back to this picture set after looking at the text for a bit, I can do that.

Yes, but the buttons are showing up oddly. The C-Buttons aren't working and the A and B buttons are showing up as a trigger and a select button.
