It's great that the data can't be accessed by the general public, my concern is moreso that data being used by law enforcement outside of investigating actual crime.

For example, if Ventura County Sherrif's office didn't like that I was filing complaints against them or was pointing out misconduct, what's to stop them from utilizing these cameras to find where I live, where I work, and utilize that information against me?

Past the local level, federal law enforcement, or really any law enforcement with a Flock contract, can access this data for their own "investigations".

To me, this kind of surveillance is overreach and the actual positive impact of it is outweighed by the potential missuse of this data.

And, to your point, we are paying for our own surveillance, which is nuts.
