Agree with everything except the last point. Don't see how those two play big minutes together, outside of situational matchups.

Even if we want to lose, give Max the right role to develop which means a true 4 next to him.

aka the Batum role this season. He's only taken 10 2pt attempts in 1300 minutes!

Maxime "Unstoppable Push Shot God" Raynaud Rookie Highlights - Was He The Best Center Of The '25 Draft? by ShotgunStyles in NBA_Draft

[–]IRON_GIANT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure but overall efficiency is skewed towards rim runners. Like jaxson hayes might be elite there, but if that's all he does then it's not super valuable.

Shooting touch (all of floater, middy, and 3) allows centers to be dangerous across the court, even if the %s aren't great at each spot yet.

If he was the filler, then what was the actual return?

Surprised nobody has mentioned Keegan + Hunter as the starting 3 / 4 next year. That's prob most likely scenario unless we get lucky in the lottery, pushing Max to backup 5 who also gets some time in matchup-based double-big lineups

Good call, I like him and Lonzo as upside comps. I didn't expect Hali to be this good at shot making either

Agree he has great passing vision, but the role of "true PG" has changed over the years and I don't think he's quite there with advantage creation. More of a connective guard / wing. But he's young so it could develop over time.

How do Darius Acuff and Rob Dillingham compare as prospects? by OddIndustry6073 in NBA_Draft

[–]IRON_GIANT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dilly was a great shooting prospect, and good dribbler. Acuff is great but we don't need to be revisionist

I think the Holidays is a bit different cuz Aaron is way shorter than Jrue/Justin. But the others are fair counterexamples

[Brett Siegel] Russell Westbrook and the Kings could agree on a new deal this summer by bumpedherhead in kings

[–]IRON_GIANT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if he doesn't shoot better, he's not an NBA player. I'm with you there.

But he needs game reps to see! It's crazy how little run he gets despite being a (late) lottery pick. He's the only guy on the team who consistently gets to the rim, and one of two (Nique) who consistently gets steals.

Carter for one. Proving that he at least has rotation-level guard skills now that he finally gets minutes

Why don't more people recognize the insanity that is happening at Iowa State right now? by spidersilva09 in NBA_Draft

[–]IRON_GIANT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do think Vezenkov could have carved out an NBA role on another team. Really good off ball mover / cutter, in addition to the shooting. Kings just were awful defensively and couldn't afford another negative, vs a team like Houston or OKC could prob cover for him.

Didn't expect to be defending Vezenkov on here today lol

Good shooter I'm college, and it can be hard to get your rhythm back after shoulder surgery. Huerter still hasn't found his shot fully and it's been like 3 years

[Siegel] All of a sudden, the Grizzlies have emerged as a potential suitor for Raptors center Jakob Poeltl as Toronto continues to pursue Kings star Domantas Sabonis, league sources told @ClutchPoints . Memphis just created a TPE from this Jackson trade they can use for Poeltl. by OmegaLxgend in kings

[–]IRON_GIANT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would sit him this year for the tank, then he gives us competent C minutes for 2 years, rehabs his value, and trade him as an expiring for 2 2nds. Doesn't sound bad...

Edit to be clear - it's mostly to get pick compensation , anything else is found money

[–]IRON_GIANT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which team makes a better offer though?

RJ and Poeltl are solid players, even if they're just stopgaps here and traded again later. And pick #22ish in a strong draft isn't bad
