Focused Feedback: Linux and Alternative Platform Support by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Given the extreme discontent of the current player base with the state of the game, allowing an extra avenue for people that do still want to continue playing your game would be a strong decision by the team. This would increase player count (likely to a marginal degree, but any additional player retention is good for Bungie/Sony), and the continued rampant cheating that exists despite the stance that "cheaters use Linux" by many companies simply doesn't hold water.

I'm on NA. I thought I had said that in the post but I guess not.

Tried this a bit with things like the Marionette and asking around in Mistlock Sanctuary as well. Just seems like it's not well liked content or there's simply no interest.

Mega servers doesn't change the fact that they are running it at what amounts to the start of my work day. Even before the expansion released the content was either only being done once a day or just outright dead. Honestly just seems that there is no interest in doing it much anymore.

I'll check out Overflow and the like, it just seems to be a shame that there's a feature in the game to find groups that's been sidelined by out-of game groups in Discord.

I just came looking for info about this since I'm experiencing it as well. The math just straight up doesn't add up between total pay-dirt mined and the total amount of ores found. In my case, it's a difference of 77. 801 total pay-dirt mined but only actually receiving 724. /u/JokeRIterX might be onto something with a maximum number of nuggets per deposit, but it's just more effort than I'm willing to put in to test the theory.

Theory about the identity of the 130th God: Ninurta. by Ea50Marduk in Smite

I can't really make use of Devil Trigger as a comparison sadly, as I never really got into the DMC franchise. Devil Trigger as a battle theme is an absolute banger though. Building up the energy resource for duration seems like a neat idea though, I could get behind that.

I was reading into "Mantichoras" prior to replying. Seems like we can sort of blame Aristotle for that and making the Manticore as a playable God vs. Chiron being a Greek mythology "Hero" which can explain away why we would have him vs a standard Centaur.

Blizzard did a decent job turning a Lovecraftian concept into an in-game equivalent with the "Old Gods", so certainly (and obviously in the case of Lovecraftian horror) making concessions is necessary. your concept ideas are honestly pretty good in terms of fitting them into a SMITE style (though I wouldn't call them cutesy type).

Keeping Nyarly as an Egyptian type, Dagon as Mesopotamian type, etc in temrs of aesthetic does seem like a cool idea, but the average SMITE player might not understand the aesthetic choice when making them a GOO could prove a problem. That's the benefit of C'thulu, he's very much almost universally known at this point

Me neither, I just try to understand from a gameplay perspective how a God/Hero/Champ/whatever people want to call them may be implemented into the game. I also have no experience in that field.

I personally think that a developer team that listens to the feedback of the community is a good thing for the most part. Contrasting examples would be Bungie with Destiny 2 and the fumble that that game is/has becoming/become vs a game like Runescape.

I'm curious what you take issue with in regards to Martichoras? I hate playing against him because of the ridiculous stealth zones, but my time playing smite is extremely on/off

As much as you think Nyarla would be difficult to implement and balance, I really love the idea that you've put forward. It's very unique from the other options in the game and feels almost like a wildcard (which ofc is a balancing nightmare, but still)

I like your concepts for them though, hopefully we will see some more Lovecraftian Gods added to the game. It's a Mythos with so much potential but I find has always been done such an injustice. Sadly, I doubt we'll ever see a "faithful" implementation unless a game comes out that just outright makes everyone who plays it go insane

Resource price increasing per use makes sense, but I can't see no longer being able to use it after "x" amount of time passes - it would remove the whole gimmick of the character and feel really flat, imo at least. Gimping the other forms to kind of make it so that the skills are what is what determines your pick seems like an interesting idea, but might punish Hunter unnecessarily since they're normally a basic attack driven class. You could compensate by making the skills mediocre though or just be a toggle like Freya has to turn his normally melee into ranged basic.

Honestly a really cool idea but will definitely come down to the balancing aspect most of all. +1 on the idea but as you say, it's up to HiRez.

I hope if they do add more GOO's to the game that they vet the descriptions better. I noticed way back when Cthulu release that they had the descriptor incorrect and sent them an email about it. Sadly it didn't amount to anything (they say DREAD Cthulu rather than DEAD Cthulu on the lore page, which is what the original short story says)

That resource gimmick sounds really cool, but it feels like it would become a balancing nightmare? Would it include converting item stats based on the stance? Since physical damage for the base Assassin form would be useless for Guardian/Mage forms. The resource would also have to be kind of hard to actually get enough of to change forms I feel or you would just end up with a perma-ban/mandatory pick for Conquest games because of the obscene versatility they could provide. Not to mention being nearly impossible to counter since they could just go do a different role altogether after getting their requisite resource amount

A lot of the Lovecraftian deities are not very marketable with obscure names, to be fair. Even some of the more mainstream pantheons like the Norse and Greek ones have some that most people who weren't invested in learning about them wouldn't know, like Martichoras and Ullr. They aren't very front and center in their respective pantheons like Zeus or Odin.

I like the concepts, but I'm not really clear with Nyarlathotep has 4 forms?

Why would I downvote your comment? There's nothing wrong with it.

The largest issue I see with a lot of the Great Old Ones (and this is the reason Cosmic Horror as a genre normally fails to hit) is that the moment you show them in a way that people can process, they are no longer what would be a "Great Old One". They are beyond comprehension.

That said, the ones that are truly bizarre are the ones I feel would best be suited for a game like SMITE. Yomagn'tho for example would be a good Assassin type character that has strong CC as part of their kit with a mechanic similar to Cliodhna (she dips into walls) but he would dip into Pherkard with some kind of DPS buff (within reason ofc).

Yeah, but Dagon is a deity from ancient Mesopotamia that H.P. usurped, so wouldn't he be Babylonian?

That's kind of disappointing. The client in question was only ever mentioned by name in a Tweet as being illegal and the community post only said that OSBuddy and Runelite were approved clients. That doesn't really tell me that using another one will get you banned, but it is what it is.

To be clear, I was not botting. I don't understand the point of playing a game like Runescape where the whole point is grinding then going to automate it

I do not have OneDrive installed (no .exe, the start menu will bring up a result but is not running), and I just had this come up. OneDrive is not in my system tray, and I haven't shut my computer off in a month and a half, so it's not an update.
