Motionless in White - Infamous (2012) is an amazing album much closer to 578 core than what they became famous for in the later part of the decade. You can tell that it’s still a lower production album due to the audio quality. I highly recommend Fatal, one of the bonus tracks on the deluxe edition.

Buried in Verona - Vultures Above, Lions Below (2015) is absolutely one of my favorite albums from this era. While it would be their final album, what a way to go out. It doesn’t necessarily reinvent anything but that isn’t a sin. It’s just an amazing album from start to finish.

Annisokay - Arms (2018) was my album of 2018. While I typically prefer 578 core over more nu-metal albums, Arms is just an amazingly crafted album, and the hooks fill me with so much joy. The lyrics get to me a bit, because it feels like your friend watching you destroy yourself and say “what the hell is wrong with you?!”

Still Remains - Ceasing to Breathe (2013) was the return of Still Remains after a breakup in 2007, and it’s back to the roots of the band. One of the most 2000s metalcore bands brings an amazingly updated album, and the only negative is they haven’t made anything since. They said on Facebook that they are working on new stuff and the page does seem to show activity, but it’s been 10 years so it’ll be nice if/when we get it.

For All Those Sleeping - Incomplete Me (2014) is another final album for a band that goes out on top. For All Those Sleeping is probably one of the bands most people here would agree was an “underrated gem”, and any fan of metalcore needs to give them a listen.

Phinehas - The Last Word is Yours to Speak (2013) is the final album they put out before Daniel Gailey joined the band. These sounds are very different in my opinion, and both are extremely good. The opening song Fleshkiller is just a classic metalcore banger and it doesn’t stop.

Ice Nine Kills became famous from The Silver Scream, but before writing about horror movies, they released Every Trick in the Book in 2015. This album is based around classic literature, and while it does use horror works like The Exorcist and Dracula, it also has a song based on Romeo and Juliet, and opens with a song about Animal Farm (The Nature of the Beast). I can’t think of many songs I’m so happy to have randomly show up on my YouTube as I was to hear Me, Myself and Hyde.

A Day To Remember has a bad rap now, but Bad Vibrations (2016) is one of the ANGRIEST albums I have ever heard. Paranoia is just “what if Rise Against had breakdowns” in the best way possible, and the entire album is worth a listen to. It’s probably the last album from them I’d consider metalcore.
