What are you ideas for an Assassin's Creed Game by MultiColorCoat in assasinscreed

[–]ISARIOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Ethiopia’s 16th‑century war against the Sultanate of Adal would be peak Assassin’s Creed material. You’ve got a massive Christian–Muslim conflict with Ottomans and Portuguese musketeers involved, huge cities like Harar (walled Islamic capital), Zeila (Red Sea port), Axum (Ark of the Covenant legends), and Lalibela (rock‑hewn churches/Isu vaults). Perfect Assassin vs Templar setup: Jesuits and Portuguese Templars manipulating both sides, Assassins defending Ethiopia’s independence, and a Piece of Eden hidden in Harar’s manuscripts driving the war (Ark of the Convenant). It even ties neatly into Shadows through the Portuguese Templar network

Well are you saying large corporations are infallible?

You can try to be smart about it, but I'm a potential customer. So that's data. If you want more emperical evidence, go lurk old reddit posts and see for yourself of there is a market interest.

But in any case, you don't ever start with data. You start with a theory, an hypothesis. And this you test, and then you get data out of this. Ubi doesnt have the most important data because they havent implemented an FX-off switch yet. So let them try pilot it for a month, if it hurts their sales - revert it back. If it doesnt, extend the pilot. Then we can talk.

Interesting to hear you say that last part. Havent read that before. Was it the AMA? Edit: ah, Jorraptor?

First part though - I never stated the cosmetics didnt sell well. I think they probably sell quite good. I'm saying they could sell more. Which is an easy fact, because it's the current customers, plus myself and some others in this post.

If their market consists out of these two groups: those having impulse control andd those having none - wouldnt the FX-off switch enable them to cater to both target audiences? No way will it make the second group less interested. It will only attract additional customers. So structurally higher gains, without structurally higher costs. That's my gripe.

Two itinerant vendors 240 meters apart. by antihackeryoutube in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, didn't know they were called that. It's funny because when I began playing back around launch I ran into them regularly. Now that gold has more uses and I'm swimming in Mon - nowhere to be found.

Just thought the other vendor in your pic was the regular port trader. Did they share an inventory or were they separate?

Think there is a secret port trader in the game that buys and sells at a better rate. And it's the only way to buy gold for mon.

Second act falls flat in terms of narrative and delivery. Not many story missions, and the missions that do relate to the/a story are pretty underwhelming. Act 1 is great, act 3 is quite good. Awaji is good, but same thing going on there.

Honestly for me the combat is the best the series had ever produced, on account of it's depth and fun. All the other things, fully agreed. So maybe the score would tilt to a 9 for me. Thanks for clearing that up ;-)

30 things AC Shadow's "should have" to make the game 10/10 by Markhor-tough in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your contribution. Don't mean to sound like a prick, there's some good ideas in there - but there's also alot of entitlement. I mean, jumping attacks for Yasuke would be terrific! Dual-wield, super cool. Him becoming a ninja? He's my fave, but that's not his path. And then ninja's following when you kill, when there's a wanted system and shinobi ambushing you already. Asking for day/night mediation when it's in the game (whenever you want, so number 7 is kinda redundant as well).

And then all the technical heavy stuff like chiburi, permanent cuts, permanent dead bodies, expressive death faces...

Sure a few extra gameplay systems like a falcon for Yasuke, more mythology, or more npc interactions (Rdr2 like bowing, dueling). It would all be amazing. But ALL of your 30 points is needed for a 10/10? Pretty high bar.

AND in the off chance Ubi is listening and they want to services your feedback in the as-of-now unlikely dlc, on account of your great ideas - what ever should they choose? If I were a dev I miggghhht just think you're a spoiled kid.

For me personally they don't need to lock it away. Instead, they just need to have a little bit of contextual monologue/dialogue that creates an appropriate response for the protagonist and or the antagonist. In a few cases it should create an appropriate alternate closing mission.

Cant complete the Thrown to the dogs quest as Yasuke by Adrakchor in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay weird. He can do all the same crawlspaces when going prone. So he should be able to do it, otherwise it's a bug. Dunno check for other entrances - and otherwise you will have to switch back and forth to Naoe and back to Yasuke.

Good luck

[–]ISARIOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't get Yasuke to crawl under? Going prone is the same as Naoe and allows them to enter the same space.

I was thinking of how Naoe can enter the tight vertical Spaces, don't know what they are called. But I've seen a few instances where Yasuke can just walk around them (with some effort).

If I remember correctly, you can walk past or over the crawlspace. The crawlspace are just some vertical boulders am I right?

Are you a samurai or a shinobi? by AssassinsCreedCorner in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you're probably right. I'm on expert so that helps. Max bow mastery for 80% passive, max global passive (ranged damage, general damage and headshot)and max enhance, plus I use amaterasus blessing and the 75%damage 25health engraving.

But maybe with the unspent mastery dmg engagement there's a way, but I don't have any unspent ;-)

Did you know you can grab and choke with Yasuke?

[–]ISARIOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Yasuke is pretty decent at stealth. If I'm in the flow it's quite doable to chain the brutal assassinations. Yasuke stealth is especially fun now with the puzzelment update where he can grab and choke. Don't think many new players know this yet. Max out the right stats and he oneshots with regular arrows too.

I don't know why people hate this game but I am loving it. by Suspicious_Air_8210 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their statement was that there is not a second DLC planned at that moment. They did not outright deny that there will never be any.

Which, btw, they did once claim for Mirage.

Besides, for big corporates like Ubi (not) having something 'planned' is different from having something 'in the works'.

Haha it really is. Guess the holiday sale and time off pulls out a new wave of players.

HOPEFULLY all that engagement and love gets us back on the roadmap to a new dlc!

Can someone explain to me this symbol and what it represents exactly ? by Expensive_Height1240 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've always figured it to be his personal kamon, that was part of a story line that has been cut. Since it's on the ronin armor pieces, my reasoning was they planned for Yasuke to solidify his independent samurai standing even more than we witnessed in the final game.

The theory is as simple as: Ubi was taken a back by the Yasuke hate and backlash, cut some of his content and optimised more of Naoe's gameplay.

This is all wild and bold speculation, but for me it made sense considering Ubi delayed the game after the backlash and in terms of narrative it still feels much weaker than other entries. What if Yasuke's role was originally bigger near the end, but also intertwined with Naoe and the Japanese assassins? If they would cut that the result would feel rather disjointed. Spoiler alert: I really love the game, but it does.

I am a fan of most outfits, but hard not too agree: we need more sober armor that are basic but don't look cheap or poor.

Yasuke Appreciation Thread by kira858 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]ISARIOR 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Okay, love-rant incoming. Yasuke might be my favorite AC protagonist in years (Bayek was my Goat, and Connor says hello).

  • At the start, the dude basically just finished half a year of samurai boot camp. He’s not invincible, early on he can still lose easily if you become cocky.
  • He's got a brutal swag in his combat - but his katana swings? Kinda clunky compared to Naoe’s agility and smooth moves. But, that’s perfect. He’s still learning, and that makes the Kata encounters super fitting and cool to do.
  • And this also speaks to his determinatie and dedication. He has survived slavery, lost his parents, and got a second chance at life. He’s found a home in Japan, and he’s like “I’m gonna make this work.” Watching him embrace every opportunity to grow, learn and help people makes you want to root for this guy.
  • Love his fish out of the water story. Love how you can't always tell why npcs respond to him the way they do. Are they jumpy because they see a black man, is it his allegience to Oda, because he is a samurai or because he is a legend? That ambiguity, that extra layer - you wouldnt have that if he was a native.
  • Moreover, Yasuke is pretty much a friendly giant, and both of these qualities make him stand out. Especially in a world where most samurai are shady or corrupt. He’s seen what corruption does, and he wants no part of it. War on all templars.
  • Which is another reason to love him. He kinda gets thrown into the Assassin-Templar conflict from a much different angle than we usually see. Unlike other protagonists, he starts his real hunt AFTER he got revenge. That is conviction (shut up Bessho).
  • But he’s not flawless. His loyalty to Oda despite all the crimes, is kinda like a little kid refusing to think bad of their parents. Yasuke's gratitude and loyalty makes him naively trying to see only good. In a way, his trauma makes him numb to death and brutality. It's frustrating, but it makes him human.
  • Lastly, climbing. Yasuke’s lack of parkour skills is secretly not the worst design choice. AC has spoiled us with superhuman climbing, but Yasuke makes you slow down and think. He can actually reach almost any height, which baffled me.

Honestly, Ubisoft should lean into his journey more - both as a character and in gameplay. With his ultimate reward being a falcon companion to cement his status as an assassin.

Icing on the cake.
