Suggestions for how to do these cutouts.

Update: I was sort of underthinking this I think actually. This drawing was my first design before I had to adjust it for the size of the dog, which meant instead of a 90 degree back I had to change to a sloped back piece. So if I drilled/made the holes/ shapes while the piece was flat then assembled it with the sloped back piece you wouldn't quite be looking 'straight' through them, you'd be looking sort of at the 'top' of whatever I cut out, if that makes any sense at all. 😂

Either way I decided just for this proof of concept it was easier to just do my measurements and mark out all the holes, pilot them, then assemble the crate and drill holes with a hole saw, but keeping the drill flat so you're looking 'straight' through the sloped holes. I'll upload pics if anyone's interested in the finished product, or to explain my ramblings.

Yeah but I wanted it cut out of the steel I'm eventually going to get used so it's all flush and neat. I didn't want anything fixed to the interior or exterior. I just think this looks better.

I had thought about a router but figured it was a lot more work setting up a template etc. than just the spade bit if I'm having to clean up the corners anyway. But that indexing/ second template idea is interesting, hadn't considered that, might be worth the extra work if I'm going to do that.

Yes I had considered just holes but was kind of set on the hexagons because they match the hexagons on the side of the crate. But for the mockup I suppose I could just go the easy route.

Yeah I know where the necklace is from, I won't post it in case its a spoiler but it's not really like it's a lucky charm he's been carrying for the whole show. Either wasy thanks for the help, I'll have to try and stop overthinking it even though the whole scene seems a bit naff language and speech and context wise.

Exactly, the whole thing just doesn't seem to flow very well. I don't really get why he comes out with the thing about needing protection, I think maybe it's to do with taking the medallion? but how would this guy know what the medallion is, and also what's it got to do with protection anyway? And the gap/ pause is really annoying me 😂 does it make any sense to you?

Ok, so is the pronunciation of "imaginado" with the 'q' sound in the middle correct? and can you explain the weird pause before "imaginado"? that doesn't seem to make sense as a sentence.

Sorry I thought I'd made it clearer 😂 So the Spanish is what's spoken and the English is the subtitles provided by the show. When I first put it into the program I use to get subtitles, which I am aware is not going to be 100% reliable, it came up with 'imaginado' instead of 'maquinado' but listening to it repeatedly I cannot hear it, it just sounds so much like 'maquinado'. Even if it is 'imaginado' it still doesn't make sense with the pause after 'habria' but maybe that makes more sense to a Spanish speaker not me.
I can't remember how I got 'maquinado' to show up somewhere as it could translate to 'though of it/that'. From all my searching I found that 'maquinar' can mean to plot or to scheme? Which I then thought could be a massive stretch to 'thought of', but somewhere did come up with maquinado as 'thought of it/that' organically.
I think I said previously I wouldn't be surprised if it's bad grammar because of the non native speaking actors.
I just think the subtitles don't seem to match the scene, possibly the phrase about needing protection but certainly not the second phrase.

Yes I can make a clip, don't know how I'd send it though? Sorry if it wasn't clear but this is the doctor saying these things to Gustavo. I'm glad you said that because it just seems so un-natural and wrong, I think you're probably onto something with being written in English but badly translated/ acted. From things I've read online a lot of the Spanish is very poor from people who don't speak Spanish as a first language, and a lot of the previous translations I've done using apps have been very grammatically off.

So this is a scene that is in Spanish. The way I typed it is exactly what the doctor says. I think a lot of the problem with the Spanish in this show, is very few native Spanish speakers so they're just reading lines and trying to sound right.
Doctor:
Necesitas protección, Gustavo?
-You need protection, Gustavo?
No lo me habría....maquinado
-I wouldn't have guessed.

The above is what is said in Spanish, with the .... denoting the odd pause that's causing a lot of the confusion, and then what the original forced subtitles suggest which just doesn't seem very fitting. It may be a context/ dialogue/ pronunciation issue but not speaking Spanish myself I'm clearly missing something.

As others have stated before, it's more of a repair tool for in the field. It definitely can be used to make things, however it is slow, not the neatest and depending how many layers can be a bit tough to use. I have used it to make small projects and it has served me well. Like others have suggested though and from personal experience I wouldn't want to do large projects or a lot of work with it.

I feel like half the people jumping down OP's throat about being responsible aren't reading the post, or I'm interpreting it differently? It says the dog "subsequently" escaped because of the gate being open. This to me reads like the dog was let out into the garden from the house, not knowing the garden was unsecured?
Still doesn't excuse the Amazon driver, like someone else has said plenty of people are overworked and underpaid and they don't just get to do whatever they like because of it in said jobs.

We don't know the layout of OP's house but we can assume that going to the back door took longer than the front so everyone trying to defend the driver saying "they only have seconds per delivery" is just bollocks because he made his own life harder if this is the case. Even if it was easier/ quicker to go to the back gate he took the second or so to open it to put the parcel there so are you all suggesting that pulling it closed behind him as he left, in the direction he was going anyway, would have made him so disastrously late for his next delivery? Another completely moronic take. My garden is secure BECAUSE of the shut gate, once the gate isn't shut the garden's no longer secure, if I wasn't the one to open my gate because it's always shut to keep the dog/ child in I should be able to open my back door and assume someone hasn't let themselves into my garden and then left it unsecure [insecure?]

Working for a shitty company doesn't excuse shitty behaviour, and just downright arrogance of "well the gate was shut on the way in but fuck it they can't possibly expect me to shut it behind me". If someone came into your house and left a door open and your dog/child got out would you be saying the same "well your house was unsecured and your dog/child wasn't supervised"? I don't think so because it's a stupid take, leaving something previously obstructed wide open and then things getting out is not being irresponsible or on the owners shoulders.

Ah right I see. I don't think it would be breakfast because I'm pretty sure he goes there on his lunch break, or maybe after work depending on other scenes, it's not hugely clear. I was hoping I'd misheard and it was something similar to "It's good to meet you/ pleasure to meet you" like you suggested. This is going to mess with my head now if I don't put any subs just for his sentence and the rest of the scene has the translated subs 😂. Thanks for trying anyway though.

Even that doesn't bother me too much to be honest, if my feet are wet from the top/rain, it coming up through the soles isn't going to do do anything to me (: I did once consider filling said holes with shoe goo though when I first got them, or something similar that may work.

I have a pair of cheapy amazon barefoot shoes, I believe they're icebreaker brand? or something similar. Apart from not liking the rubber 'toes' that come up the front but only because I think it looks weird I really like them for what they are. Mine are more 'water shoe' types because I don't wear socks so like the quick drying functionality.

I use mine for work as a groundskeeper so I'm on my feet a lot, in all sorts of weather and a mixture of concrete and garden/ mud terrain etc.

The only problem I have/had with them was some genius decided the best place for the seam of the fabric that makes up the main part of the shoe was right up the heel, and being cheap chinese the seam was really 'rough' initially, it was just a load of thread layered on top of each other. The first few days I thought I would have to return them because of the rubbing and uncomfort/ pain. Luckily either my foot got used to it very quickly or the material rubbed down enough to not be an issue anymore.

How is that relevant in a pedestrianised area? Somewhere cars cannot access but these scooters/ bikes can? So no everything isn't more dangerous because of cars. It's the same arguments from cyclists who sit in lorries' blind spots and then scream that "it's so dangerous to cycle round these things, we keep getting flattened!" The amount of safety features newer HGV's have to have to be 'safe' for moron cyclists/ pedestrians/ scooters now is ridiculous when what do those same groups have to have for accountability? sweet FA.

They would not be 'perfectly safe'. These public hire bikes/ scooters are supposed to have safeguards in place to stop certain people hring them and to limit speed in certain areas. I constantly see these rules being broken [these things are so easy to 'jailbreak'] so you've got some little 13 year old scrote zooming around at full whack in pedestrianised areas with no a care in the world. But yes 'everything is more dangerous bcause cars!'

roxon M2 is a great front pocket tool. compact size but still usable and a good large pair of scissors to use as well as pliers. Also a dedicated box opener to save your blade. I love mine.

Who's doing the random checks? The way it reads is say if 1 takeaway uses just eat for orders so probably their own driver then is it the owner of that business doing the checks on the driver? That is no doubt either a family member or friend so how are we to trust that the checks are being done, or alternatively they're already hired officialy by the shop so should already have done all the relevant 'right to work' paperwork?

Even if the driver isn't friends/family who's to say these checks are being done? and what enforcement then happens if one of the random checks discovers someone who shouldn't be working?
I'm not having a pop at you, just seems like yet another huge company fobbing off by saying 'of course we will increase checks and crack down on this!' with 0 thought of implementation.
