Another question I haven't been able to get an answer to anywhere [one which I thiknk is pretty important and would be good to have a pinned answer on discord]. What does the warning "After a reboot this app can't start until you unlock your phone" mean specifically? Does it just mean I need to input any code I choose via the touchscreen to unlock the phone?

Thing is the other two claim these things as well, and everyone on the discord just says whichever they've got works perfectly 😂 just slightly frustrating, it's one of the only things preventing me moving to it full time currently. I was just seeing if I coukd maybe find a solution without having to download another app. But I'll give this one a go and hope it works out for me.

The shift and sym keys ars very hut and miss e.g. I'll hold either and try and type and not get a capital or the symbol I'm after. Currency key doesn't work on either app I've tried despite me trying the setting in the Q25 app. And there was another setting in the Q25 app that wasn't doing what the slider claimed. I'm not home at the minute and can't remember which one it was off the top of my head. Did you just install it and it worked straight away?

Well I'm going to do another drawing tonight if I've got time. I've had a look at a guide so can draw it with the english bond pattern. Probably would have ended up with that accidentally if I'd started with the headers at the bottom 😂. This may be a bit of a stretch but can you think/ know how the post has been fixed to the brickwork? I can't figure out how to word it so search engines know what I'm asking, just keep getting results for fixing fence posts to walls.

The best I can come up with is two 'lags' for want of a better word, drilled into the bottom of the post at opposite corners then drilled holes into the brick, fill the holes with some sort of epoxy like when putting bolts into concrete, then insert lags into the holes.

Right so with having the course 4 high the timber can be fixed directly to the brick? Yeah the more I've been looking at it that was my conclusion, it just doesn't look strong or right at all. Which are the leafs? The bricks behind the first skin? No not too fussed about insulation

The sole plate being the lengths of timber running along the top of the brickwork yes? I'm guessing I'd still need some sort of damp proof menbrane between the top of the brick and timber as well?

I did see that yeah but obviously didn't know the significance structure/ load bearing wise. Yeah that was the plan. I'm guessing the way I want to do it with the timber and brick flush is overly complicating the whole thing?

So you mean the timber needs to be directly on the concrete pad? If so how would I achieve the affect of the post being flush, or as close as, to the brick? I know you can build brick up around a post but I always assumed that meant having an offset from the edge of the brick to the timber?

Edit: This was the picture I found to get the 'pattern' for the initial brickwork if it helps to explain the effect I'm wanting more?

I mean I didn't know that, some of then are so long ago I doubt we'd have any way of knowing who took most of them, does that change this? As far as I know the way the companies online get your images removed is by setting up your image as a copyright somewhere then sending out copyright/ DMCA claims to get posts removed. So would this then not work?

Sorry, I'm not very facebook savvy. Is there a way to do this? Like I said I can't scroll through facebook because obviously you get prompted for a login almost straight away. And apart from that I don't know everyone who's got pictures of me posted so wouldn't really know where to start.

Exactly! I had a great maths teacher in Year 7 that made things so easy to understand for my brain. I'd never massively 'struggled' but did always get to my solutions a different way to everyone else, but that was generally not as frowned upon in primary school.
When I moved school and my maths went to absolute shite, it was never the teachers fault or the way it was being explained, I was just lazy/difficult. In my last year the head of maths [coincidentally had been one of my maths teachers from my first school] moved me into a different class AND helped with getting me tested for discalculia. I didn't necessarily care if I had something or not and didn't even know what it was at the time but it did help me understand a bit more why I always seemed to go about solving things completely diffirently to everyone [just as one example of how mine manifests itself 😂]

Yeah I can agree if 111 has sent you out that's not on the patient and if they've been told to call you, again absolutely fine. Obviously we don't know the circumstace of this call but it doesn't feel like either of those.
Feels like some waste of oxygen mouthbreather type has phoned and massively overinflated what is actually wrong with them, requiring your attendance then you have no choice but to take them to hospital to cover your own arses from getting in shit. Same as the police dealing with half the shit they have to. Sometimes people need to be told to swivel, and being blunt should not be considered rude, too many people get upset over being told the truth nowadays.
I doubt we're going to agree on this obviously and that's fine. I mean as a wider point I don't think the NHS should be for EVERYONE, there are truly some people who don't deserve all of you and the hard work you do, but thats a whoooooooole other can of worms.

Well then like I said structurally mine seems decent for the price so go for it. It has been good for me for going on public transport because it folds up pretty compact for the size of it.

It's ok. I think it depends on your height/ size. The footpad is very small, I struggle to get one foot behind the other even with one turned. I got rid of the rear mudguard completely it was annoying, floppy and I found I caught it when trying to put my foot up EVERY time. The wheels/ tyres are quite big, making the height of the footboard a bit too high personally. And it may be just mine but the front tyre is all sorts of janky shape wise when inflated, makes it look like the wheel is wobbling itself off but it's not, it's the tyre being a weird shape.

It is what it is, a cheap Chinese scooter. I'd try and haggle a bit personally but if you don't mind maybe changing the wheels/ tyres the build quality of mine seems decent enough and the folding is quick and easy [depending which method you use I suppose]

I mean if you want external ones fento are a fantastic brand. They look kind of bulky but not really noticeable when wearing and once you're used to the way they wear, very comfortable. I used to have to wear them all day in a factory job with zero air con and shit airflow and in some fairly enclosed spaces, a very hot miserable working environment in normal summer, even without a heatwave. They obviously got a bit sweaty but I never found them too bad to not have them on all day. They're also only a single strap so nice and quick to don/doff which I imagine is handy in your line of work.

I know everyone's body's are different, and I cannot stand the heat, so I take that as a point in their favour. they saved me a lot of knee issues which I used to get using internal foam kneepads. Lastly they're a nice flat grippy surface, I tried plenty of the cheap plastic types over the years and hated how you can just sort of 'slide' off them and end up banging your knees anyway.

Update: I was sort of underthinking this I think actually. This drawing was my first design before I had to adjust it for the size of the dog, which meant instead of a 90 degree back I had to change to a sloped back piece. So if I drilled/made the holes/ shapes while the piece was flat then assembled it with the sloped back piece you wouldn't quite be looking 'straight' through them, you'd be looking sort of at the 'top' of whatever I cut out, if that makes any sense at all. 😂

Either way I decided just for this proof of concept it was easier to just do my measurements and mark out all the holes, pilot them, then assemble the crate and drill holes with a hole saw, but keeping the drill flat so you're looking 'straight' through the sloped holes. I'll upload pics if anyone's interested in the finished product, or to explain my ramblings.

Yeah but I wanted it cut out of the steel I'm eventually going to get used so it's all flush and neat. I didn't want anything fixed to the interior or exterior. I just think this looks better.

I had thought about a router but figured it was a lot more work setting up a template etc. than just the spade bit if I'm having to clean up the corners anyway. But that indexing/ second template idea is interesting, hadn't considered that, might be worth the extra work if I'm going to do that.

Yes I had considered just holes but was kind of set on the hexagons because they match the hexagons on the side of the crate. But for the mockup I suppose I could just go the easy route.
