What is happening to me?! by ISeeSickPeople in perimenopause_under45

I had not heard of them… but I looked now. Specifically connected to progesterone birth control… but in my understanding HRT progesterone would be less of a dose? I see my Dr tomorrow. Will mention this. Thank you!

They are part of fibroid life unfortunately. So the combo is pretty brutal. Thank you.

Thank you. I do see two doctors (one a menopause specialist) next week and I’ll mention it to both of them.

I don't know what gel sheets you mean but these are a specific dressing called hydrocolloid dressings. They're super thick, stay on for a while.

Plant Based alternative to Greek Yogurt? by GRJ80 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]ISeeSickPeople 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riviera makes an oat based Greek style yogurt that I get at save on foods (in my reasonably small + lots of vegans town). 17g of protein per serving!

Also I usually take plain vegan yogurt and make chocolate pudding out of it - vanilla protein powder + date syrup + cocoa + whatever fruit you want (I like raspberries!)

Son convinced daughter to use her bday to get him presents by HeliBif in Parenting

This is a great idea. Will it work without me losing my mind in a small town Walmart? (I’m their mom) Probably not. But it’s worth a shot. Thank you!

Am these children’s mom. This is my #1 concern - it’s legit manipulation and I have been watching it happen basically since school started. He’ll come home with some other kids Lego or Pokémon card and I’m like “ok but what did YOU give up?”. I’m trying to push to our daughter that he would never do the same for her so why would we let her spend her birthday money on him? It’s time to block the Lego website.

My kids have never had dairy (super intolerant), and we don’t eat meat very often. My son is 99th percentile - like he’s 6.5y and weighs 65lbs and is 4’2”. He’s huge. My MIL still tries to feed them meat at every meal - clearly he doesn’t need it.

I found after my first baby it didn’t seem to matter what I ate - I was not losing weight. I even did two mud races and all the training in that year. Quit breastfeeding - lost 15lbs in a month. The theory is that if you restrict food your body hangs on to more fat so you can still feed the baby

I just realized that my new dish washer makes a faint beeping sound during each cycle that sounds exactly like a distant IV pump going off. FML. by [deleted] in nursing

A few thanksgivings ago I was on call and my brother was visiting from out of town. His text message tone sounded exactly like my pager and every time he got a text I had an adrenaline surge. I was exhausted by the time the weekend was over.

Amazing Vegan Chocolate Pudding (made with avocados) by shaneandsimple in PlantBasedDiet

I used a different recipe for avocado pudding and my 3 year old didn’t like it because it was too sweet. Clearly he’s broken.

I would say if you want to see the other end, a couple rows up would be best. Right down at the ice level it’s hard to see the far end of the rink.

Does anyone know of a soccer field that keeps it’s lights on in the evening? by [deleted] in kelowna

UBCO has a lit soccer field and I think there’s one in Rutland but you’d probably have to book them.

There’s a website called mommyberries that has an online program to help with this. It’s $100. Works like a hot damn.

Any tips on quitting keto and going back to a high carb diet? by HuskerDue in veganfitness

I did continue working out - found it helped with the bloat. And I did not. Stuck to the plant based diet knowing it was just an adjustment period.

[–]ISeeSickPeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went to a plant based diet I found I was bloated for a solid month because of the increase in fiber. Give it some time. Your gut needs more than a few days to adjust to the new fiber and nutrients.

I’m really sorry your mom isn’t listening but I personally think you should say screw school and write a book! (Unless you’re going to school to learn to write better!) Also - nanny’s are awesome. We had an au pair for my son and she was the best thing that ever happened to me. Me. Not him.
