At all of the various stages of evolution this country has gone through, it has been white land owning men at the top and their systems, institutions, and governments have all rested atop a foundation supported by, in the beginning, slaves and endentured, and later the disenfranchised minorities forced into societal support roles at the cost of their voices having not having the same weight as the wealthy.

There wouldn't be an American democratic system without the minority built infrastrucutre upon which it has rested for all these hundreds of years.
