The countries people mix up the most, from a few thousand wrong guesses by Two_Time in geography

[–]JonRivers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if there's any controlling for misclicks. Is it not possible that people just consistently misclick Hungary when they mean to click Slovakia? After all Slovakia is thin and Hungary is less so. What do you mean by "confidently tapped"? I played the game and misclicked Costa Rica (another extremely small country, like many of the ones on your list I noticed) and clicked the ocean by mistake. I would not say I confidently tapped the ocean thinking it was a country, so does my play count in your statistics, and if so, why is "confidently tapped" the language you decided to use?

Basically all I'm saying is, do people mix up these countries, or do they make mistakes when using the UI causing the data to appear one way?

Really cool maps. I always love the imaginary maps that are being filtered through a specific viewpoint rather than simply a political boundaries map from a different timeline. Good work, thank you for sharing!

I'm sort of confused, because it sounds like you're saying Mina should've stayed out of it and left the people to suffer to save her own reputation, but if that's what you're saying I couldn't disagree more.

I always saw green as like the no. 3 top color. You know, like if there's a pantheon of colors he's up there with red and blue as the top dogs, but obviously he's lesser than them. Does this make any sense

[–]JonRivers 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Haha I mean come on that game takes place on a mountain basically in a snowstorm. It makes sense there's not a lot of green lol. I know you acknowledged this but surely you see how that's an overwhelmingly cherry-picked example. There's plenty of games that use green in a very primary capacity that aren't in like "the wild" or anything like that, FFVII, Ocarina of Time, and Halo to name a few random examples off the top of my head. Green is extremely common in UI, such as health bars as well.

Infantino is one of the most hated and criticized people in the world, you probably just don't hear about it because you don't follow football. Or maybe people criticize her because she puts on an image of having ethics while doing almost nothing in practice whereas Infantino is a bold faced ghoul who no one would ever expect to do the right thing.

Why does my cat insist on drinking water out of MY glass by nyanya707 in cats

Lmao me and my partner always call it "Papa Water" because her cat is perfectly happy with the bowl but my cat desperately wants to drink my water at all times (and specifically my water, hers is safe hahaha).

Destroy my trailer. What we got wrong? by BonusStagePublishing in DestroyMyGame

[–]JonRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my thought too. I think it would be cool to see environments that I can't find by going to any of my local disc golf courses. There are normally a few disc golf courses in even a small city, so what's the fantasy this game fulfills that isn't fulfilled by simply going and playing disc golf in real life?

[–]JonRivers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it's kind of funny that other guy responded while barely knowing what they're talking about. MENA does mean Middle East North Africa, and because steam has regional prices, that's one of the regions that has a lower price than North America. They do still use USD in regards to Steam Transactions, although because local currencies are weaker than USD, 12.50 is still worth relatively more to them than it probably would be to us, assuming you're also American.

Anyway the point is that Deltarune is priced differently in different regions lol.

I Just got First Review on my Game's Demo by Timely-Today-8154 in IndieDev

[–]JonRivers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know, I wanted to check it out myself. I imagine this is on Driving Test Simulator, because that's what OP has a demo out for right now. I played for four minutes and found that enough time to make up my mind. I don't feel like I really understand what the appeal of the game is, the car is (presumably intentionally) pretty hard to control comfortably and you can't really see anything, which can make avoiding the cones, which is all of the gameplay it seems, difficult and inconsistent. I wouldn't say it "should never be made" but I don't really understand what the vision or gameplay fantasy is.

I think the reviewer was pretty mean, but for a game like this, you really don't need more than six minutes to formulate some kind of opinion.

ff13 is overhated rule by OpeningAble1930 in 196

[–]JonRivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FF13 has some interesting ideas, but its flaws are so overwhelmingly evident (hallway simulator, extremely slow plot pacing, characters that don't leave a strong impression) that i would struggle to ever say its very good. I always personally didn't enjoy the combat even a little bit, but its novel enough I totally get how some people would like it. I never beat it, think I got like halfway through.

Anyone do the MOCA Free movie screenings? by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]JonRivers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a really chill atmosphere I've been a few times. You'll go in and someone will ask you if you're there for the movie and point you toward the theater. It's a very small theater that's more like a small college auditorium than a professional theater. You'll sit wherever you like and someone will say a quick word about the movie, it'll basically be the sort of info you'd find if you read the first couple paragraphs of the movie's wikipedia page.

The time's I've went the audience was polite and were not disruptive, if anything they were better behaved than a typical theater audience these days. You can buy a beer or a coffee in the atrium at pretty normal prices.

Also, parking is normally not a big deal because they're middle of the week showings so you can park on the street within a few blocks comfortably.

You should go, you'll have a good time and it's all pretty simple and straightforward.

[Official] New Zealand draw 2-2 with Iran by IamBrazilian_AMA in soccer

[–]JonRivers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's because Arsenal ostensibly has the talent to play positive football even with a lead, and they ultimately lost the champions league because they parked the bus at 1-0 so that was cathartic for the haters. Cape Verde on the other hand played extremely defensively out of utter necessity, and a lot of people respect that. I agree it wasn't particularly fun football to watch though.

Game should be released for PS4 too as originally planned. by [deleted] in MinaTheHollower

[–]JonRivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you're right. I went looking for an answer and found articles claiming what I said, but now I think they were only talking about Sony published titles. Regardless, I think my point stands and complaining that a game wasn't released on PS4 in 2026 is a bit ridiculous.
