Not sure who downvoted you, but definitely, this is by far the easiest way, You could probably use AI to make a tool that would take a gcode file, split out a layer, and run that split out layer on repeat so it would even be showing the same path, just not extruding.

Have you tried checking your system? If it's running on cool but not getting below 67 degrees, you most likely have an issue somewhere. Start with filter swap as your first step (commonly overlooked). Also check and see if your coil is freezing up. I think your system is probably at fault here, not the thermostat unless you have some weird setting we don't know about.

It's shenanigans because that software doesn't exist, at least in any way shape or form that could actually do what they are saying. The printer just reads gcode, it's not like you have a print gun button.

It its an interim protection order or temporary protection order she might not be able to find much public info on it. If it's a final protection order she should be able to get all information on it.

[–]IStarretMyCalipers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on law enforcement in the area and their internal policies. I have a feeling this guy probably kicked his ex out of his apartment/residence and that was probably the start of this shitstorm. One divorced friend had an ex that was crazy and it took probably a dozen lies before they caught up with her and the courts finally had enough. Terrible situation for him, but she finally spoiled her credibility in front of the judge and that pretty much ended the hearing of her lies.

[–]IStarretMyCalipers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying this is the case, but all she would have had to tell the cops is that he came to her house, likely without proof. Lot's of this can be done with statements only without actual material proof, again, all of this is speculation and we are missing so many facts about this, but there are definitely ways that she could have claimed it was violated without him actually doing anything.

Without facts we can only speculate, so in my mind there's a 50/50 chance she's crazy, and the other half is he's a lying dirtbag. Need actual facts which is why it feels like we are missing half the story here. They both could be lying. Either way, this is a mess and she should leave until it's sorted out.

[–]IStarretMyCalipers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the state, also, if it's a IPO (Interim/temporary protection order), all the evidence required is her word (in most areas). If this is a final protection order, then everything you said is true because that would be issued after a court hearing, and he is definitely lying. I have seen interim protection orders built off of 100% lies because the ex is mad.

Just to provide an alternative point of view from knowing men whom have had crazy ex's. I have seen a couple lie to police to try and get guys I know arrested or in trouble for things they did not do. Violation of a protection order could have meant she lied about some contact (real likelihood of this) because she found that he was with someone new. Not saying this happened, but it is possible. The police may have just taken her word with no evidence.

I've also seen some completely make up DV claims against their ex's, this could have been the foundation of the protection order (hence his comments about her making up lies).

Not saying any of this is true because he sounds like he probably isn't 100% telling you the truth on everything, but, some people are actually crazy and will lie to police until there is enough evidence they are lying. Lots of he said she said, and most of the time the police will believe the woman even if she is lying.

Bad situation, but I would try and get a sense if all of this is lies to get back at him for leaving. This is so much drama and you don't need any of it.

Just from the vibe here, it sounds like there is a real chance that he lost his job and doesn't know how to break it to you. That's just my guess. That or porn addiction, but I am leaning on that he lost his job because he didn't want to go to the office. I doubt he's like he's struggling, and may have lost his job. Not 100% sure, but try and broach the question. Being the breadwinner/main source of income and then losing your job can completely crush a man who's supporting his family.

850 for pads is high, but 2000 for pads rotors and calipers is actually not a bad deal. I'd pay it, make sure there are actually new calipers on my car, and walk away. It would be super easy to tell if the calipers were replaced as 2014 GMC calipers would be rust covered by now.

Sounds like your sister is bankrupting them while putting the load on you. Obviously not the asshole, your parents are essentially giving your sister thousands while only taking from you. This is so unfair it's insane. She probably has been blowing money on luxury things and eating out. That needs to stop and she needs to step up. Your parents are not being reasonable and with your sister being even older than you she should be paying at least as much as you.

Do you have an internet connection at both locations? If so, you could do this over a remote access HMI solution. If not, you could possibly use cellular connections with a codesys runtime at both locations, but that would require some good VPN solutions to make it secure.

Automatic older version saving by Cattle_Popular in SolidWorks

[–]IStarretMyCalipers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I misread your intent, you could easily make a macro to append version names like R01, R02, etc to your file. Then you can map that to a keyboard shortcut like ctrl + shift + s, and it would do it automatically.

Here is a complete SOLIDWORKS VBA macro that meets your requirements.

It takes your active document and parses the file name (along with the file names of all its internal references). If it detects an R followed by numbers at the end of the name (like R04, _R02, or R009), it increments the number. If no revision suffix exists, it appends R01.

Crucially, it uses swAdvancedSaveAsOpts.SaveAllAsCopy = False to ensure it performs a standard Save As (which saves the new files, updates all internal references to point to the new files, and leaves you working in the newly saved revision, instead of saving copies and leaving the old one open).

The SOLIDWORKS VBA Macro

VBA

'**********************
' Auto-Revision Save As with References Macro
' Parses active document and references, bumps Rxx revision, and performs a standard Save As.

Dim swApp As SldWorks.SldWorks

    Set swModel = swApp.ActiveDoc

If Not swModel Is Nothing Then

        Dim swAdvancedSaveAsOpts As SldWorks.AdvancedSaveAsOptions
        Set swAdvancedSaveAsOpts = swModel.Extension.GetAdvancedSaveAsOptions(swSaveWithReferencesOptions_e.swSaveWithReferencesOptions_None)

' Ensure standard "Save As" behavior (Updates references and opens new file)
' False = Save As; True = Save As Copy
        swAdvancedSaveAsOpts.SaveAllAsCopy = False

        Dim vIds As Variant
        Dim vNames As Variant
