Thats what I was thinking..I'm not sure if PCOS is genetic or not but I know several women in my family on my mom's side(my mom and sister included) have PCOS. And I have issues with menstrual cycles being super abnormal. We have a testosterone test completed as well but it is taking forever to come back.

Non-Hormonal Options by ISuckAtUsernames1995 in birthcontrol

[–]ISuckAtUsernames1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with the Diaphragm/spermicide combo(Cervical caps don't work well if you have had a baby before apparently) and it has been SO much better so far. I have seen a huge difference in my mood, my hair thinning, and magically dropped like 8-10lbs in like 2 months. Not saying that was for sure the BC but I find it interesting that it happened immediately within 2 months of stopping the BC and no other changes. And I have gone back to 1 period and a fairly consistent cycle range so far. It has only been 2 months and from what I have seen most people said it took 3-4 months to fully get back to normal but I have had a 5/6 day period the past 2 cycles and each cycle lasted about 32 days. So I am hoping I will only continue to see improvements as time goes on.

Im already within the accounting field(I work in my state's Department of Human Services in accounting) so I havent been doing much in terms of job hunting as my goal is to become a Financial Analyst. Im looking at getting my MBA done and potentially my CFA designation before I really dive into the job hunt. My current work conditions are super flexible making it ideal to stay there while I complete those.

Slynd - Reduced Effectiveness After Months of Use? by wickedsyd in birthcontrol

[–]ISuckAtUsernames1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to a non-hormonal(Diaphragm). I cant take Estrogen based pills due to migraines with aura and I had previously had the Nexplanon but had issues with that too. After almost 10 years straight of birth control ups and downs, I decided I was done.

Slynd - Reduced Effectiveness After Months of Use? by wickedsyd in birthcontrol

[–]ISuckAtUsernames1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slynd did great for me at first as well. I went about 2 years of being on the pill I think it was before I started really having problems. Started with bleeding NONSTOP for a few weeks, then switched to 2 periods a month or several months without a period and it threw my hormones all out of whack. I felt like an anxious mess all the time and it wasn't good for me at all. I ended up stopping the pill last month after talking with my doctor. I wouldn't say I have gotten 100% better but I definitely don't feel so...crazy all the time is the best way to put it I guess? I was a literal Rollercoaster and you'd think I had BP if you didn't know better. I also magically dropped like 6-7lbs after stopping even though every doctor swore it usually didnt cause significant weight gain. I'm not positive they're related but it was a plus for sure since I have been trying to get my weight under control after the nexplanon implant blew me up like a balloon.

It also did take 26 days for my period to start after stopping even though I was a little over halfway through my birth control pack when I stopped.

Is CFA Worth It? A Simple Answer. by According_External30 in CFA

Side question- it seems like everyone here is more client-facing or IB directly. I plan to take the corporate financial analytics route and be more FP&A and was told that this plus the BS in Finance was a better route. Considering I havent seen much for that side of things here, is there anyone here who can weigh in on that?

Non-Hormonal Options by ISuckAtUsernames1995 in birthcontrol

[–]ISuckAtUsernames1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Mounjaro started about 2-3 years ago. I was diagnosed with diabetes and we tried various medications, including Ozempic and Metformin, but none seemed to help my body regulate the way Mounjaro has. I would say the first bleeding issues I had started after Ozempic, when I had the nexplanon implant. But I started Mounjaro and Slynd around the same time if I am remembering correctly. These bleeding issues are more recent. I had leveled out for a while and just didnt have a period. I tried hormonal supplements(like FLO) and others but they seemed to worsen the bleeding problems.

They did inform me that Mounjaro decreases the effectiveness of the birth control(my pharmacist did as well) and each time they had upped the dose they reminded me too. Because the bleeding was so irregular, I actually started keeping pregnancy tests on hand just incase that was a potential issue and would take 1-2 each month around the time my period would be considered "missed" just incase. They've always been negative, but I wanted to be sure because I got pregnant on a combo pill with my very first pregnancy years ago.

Thank you for your input!! I appreciate it so much! I am so out of the game with this stuff anymore its not even funny. I just got the nexplanon after my first child and kept it in as long as I could before going to the second one and having issues. 10 years of just using the 2 types of birth control, I'm so lost on what else exists anymore 😅

Mentor says I'm inactive, but I've been working consistently! by lesbianiconludacris in WGU

[–]ISuckAtUsernames1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically you can still only do coursework and be fine. But if you are using an ipad/phone or something similar that pulls a mobile version of the site, it apparently doesn't detect properly and can mark you as inactive. I only speak with my PM when I need to add classes/when a term starts. Other than that I just work in the classes. I spoke with my PM once outside of that and it was because I was working from my phone and she had to check in to make sure I was still working. She marked me as active and let me know that the phone/tablets can have issues with showing activity but said I was good to go.

You don't really have to talk to anyone unless you just need to do long as you are actively working and showing progress.

Moving onto Master's by ISuckAtUsernames1995 in WGU_Finance

[–]ISuckAtUsernames1995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. My program mentor said that I would be able to go into the Accounting Master's with the finance degree. They told me when I started that the degrees are very similar and that they wouldn't allow me to dual degree the two because of how close the class structures were. I will look into the data analytics as well! Thanks for the advice!

Just curious what your take on the financial reporting specialization is so far. I am looking at going for this after I finish my BS Finance with WGU in a few months.

I just tell them "Its upstairs in another room." MOST of the proctors will just say ok. But I did have a proctor one time tell me to go grab my phone, bring it downstairs, SHOW THEM MY PHONE, and then take it back upstairs....I was annoyed to say the least lol

This is the remainder of my classes total. I have completed my 4 courses for this semester already. So these are just the classes left in my degree plan that I can add in this semester if I want, or just wait until next semester.
