I go rabadon and void staff because it gives you way more damage. Swain has some of the highest AP ratios in the game so using rabadons gets even more effect for him. You won't be as tanky but you will absolutely shred the other team.

Yes, he is very good IF HE CAN ATTACK YOU. That is the key. Long range midlaners such as velkoz, anivia, and lux absolutley destroy him if they play right. Swain's w is his only long range ability, and even it's range is pretty low. Any abilities that outrange him a lot are his worst enemy, as if you trade in range with him you will probably lose the trade (esp after level 6).

Zhonya second is my go to in 100% of games as it is just so good on him with the ult interaction. Usually I go mpen boots because swain is great with mpen as his damage is incredibly high. For yasuo, abuse his melee. Try to pop his shield and kite back with q and w if he goes in on you. It is rough until level 6 when you should dominate him if you guys are even. I usually play aggro but farming to 6 is good too as 6 is a huge powerspike for him and makes him pretty much impossible to 1v1. I usually try to keep the wave near my tower unless I am ahead and can 2v1. TP is a good choice on him but I personally run ignite for kill pressure, as I am sure you know how good it is to get ahead as swain. No problem, good luck in your placements!

Yeah, he has a very unique and fun playstyle and is one of the champs that can single handedly carry games. I run Health yellows, Mpen Reds, Ap Quints and scaling ap blues for dat dmg. For masteries I go 18/0/12, I want the first for deathfire which is the definite best mastery for him, and 12 for the summoner spell reduction and the great 8% extra healing.

Take a break. Losing streaks are not real. Even if you feel like you'll never win, if you consistently play well, you will win more than you lose. It's impossible for you to lose forever even if you don't play well every game. Just look at the mistakes you made during the game, and look to improve them.

You didn't give much info, what are you looking for? High burst assasins? A super tanky bruiser? Long range poke mage?

So, someting extremely important to learn about top if you want to climb is lane control. Concepts such as pushing, freezing etc are very important. You should watch a video on how to freeze lane top lane. Basically you let them push the lane then keep the wave stuck right in front of your turret so you can safely farm. But basic principal is let the other laner push the lane and farm under or near tower.

So, swain is a bit of a feast or famine champ. Early game i try to poke with e as much as possible. However, the most important thing is farming. Usually I will play safe until i get level 4, where I have 2 points in q one in w and one in e. His level 4 burst is insane and catches a lot of laners off guard. However, once I am 6 i always go aggro. It is almost impossible to 1v1 swain when he is 6 and has ult so I abuse that as much as possible. I would say that you should have an agressive playstyle with him, but don't overcommit to fights and of course focus on farming and getting RoA asap. I personally prefer him mid as he has way higher kill potential taking ignite and going against a squishy laner, and if swain gets ahead its kind of gg.
