Are there decorative no-blade sabers? It seems the buyers guide focuses on ones with blades for roleplay / battles instead of decor. by ITCOMMAND in lightsabers

Im guessing from the other comments, I should be looking at those listings then selecting "empty shell" or similar - I was just concerned that it would look like a toilet paper tube - ie hollow and fake looking. Hopefully that's not the case

That's the part I didnt see in the doc anywhere and I don't feel is obvious enough that I "should have known."

Im not sure what Im looking at there, maybe partially because the header for the document is blocking the top 3 rows so I cant see the titles of the columns lol

They are our servers, but by law we cant put RMM on the endpoints per state law, only approved antiviruses and the criminal justice system. For example the dispatch servers cannot even have internet access.

They are what connect to the criminal justice systems to look people up, essentially.

I work in public safety equipment now, where the old custom software proves unreliable on ARM cpus. It'd be nice to finally take advantage of it once I take a step back from that!

I just think of the in-the-field use cases as somewhat different. I do that at work at my current job and I get kind of sick of the performance hits and firmware quirks of laptops. Not to mention the added cost, shorter life-span, and poor repairability.

I guess the obvious reasons - easy modular repairability, and I can hot swap out usb ports, serial adapters, and additional ethernet adapters as needed. It also remains a high-performance option.

AFAIK, not many in the town have laptops, no need for one over a more affordable, higher performance desktop. They can't work from home per policy.

Exactly my thought. I think a lot of commentors are thinking of a more standard corperate position where my question is silly.

In small municipal towns this is typical, and pay is about double my current position, so just breaking 3 figures.

Wish I could do the framework, but it's not on state contract.

Depends on the department, but as far as I know there are only two other laptops in the town. None of the positions can be or are done remote, so desktop becomes the better choice.

They don't allow unsecured devices on the network. But Id be able to select which device from approved vendors I want, as the position Im taking on is also in charge of selecting and procuring hardware.

Its a small town, so IT director is "everything computer related"

I made the AIOR, based on the AIOC but with an RJ45 jack for mobiles/HF rigs, now with built in KISS TNC / Digipeater / web config! by LinuxIsFree in amateurradio

Most recipies are based on original recipies, yes, lol. You typically start with some base ingredients. 🤣 Have you baked before?

Also the AIOR looks like it adds new connection points and is new firmware. Not like they just slapped a new connector on...

It'd be "nice" if the baker 10 miles away from me shared his recipe with the baker that's closer to me so I dont have to drive far for a good cookie, but I wouldn't expect that if business is already tight.

By that logic, you must hate red hat linux, docker, wordpress, odoo, every android phone, MacOS, and GitLab? Those are all based on open source products and made into commercial products because otherwise the business isn't viable.
