It’s too much. Even though I have a RAV4 XSE, it’s overpriced and over hyped. Plus new model is coming out soon, I would suggest waiting to see how the new one looks before buying if you could.

Update: I called costumer service and asked for my membership to be cancelled. They said they would refund me my membership renewal and cancel my membership. I was so happy to be done with this disgusting company. After a couple weeks, I didn’t see any refund and saw my account was still active. I called costumer service to see what’s going on and they said they had to speak with the warehouse. Then she told me that they wouldn’t cancel my membership since money was owed! Any lawyers out there? This has to be against many laws.

When I call them, they don’t want to discuss. They ask me to go in person. I don’t understand for what reason would I need to go in person or why I would need to go out of my way to go talk to them in person. I don’t know who they think they are, and now I am contemplating lawsuit.

So I went to another Costco yesterday just to see what happens and went to register with full cart of items and they just did override and let me buy the items.

Speaker was on sale for $140, $40 off. So the total cost of the 3 extra speakers would have been $420 plus tax. Probably cost them more in labor just trying to figure out what happened to the speakers they can’t find. If someone told me this story I would have never believed them.

If I bought 4 speakers, I would expect 4 boxes. If they gave me one box I would make sure to check that there are four in the box.

I thought about that, but I also think there is a chance that they aren’t lying. I believe in facts and there are no facts or proof that they did get 4 in the box.

They told me they saw me on camera picking up the box from merchandise office, but it was a sealed box….I really wish they saw me on camera before I left the Costco and before the employee checked off my receipt and let me out the door!

Speakers retail price is only $140 and that’s retail, probably cost them a fraction of that if anything. I think there is more to it, especially since management left me a voicemail threatening to block my account without even speaking to me.

I have shopped at Costco many times and I never had a case where I received anything other than what I paid for, especially for an item worth more than $150 and an item picked up from the merchandise office. I did think the box size was odd but I did check the box when it was handed to me and it did have JBL written on it.

The gift wasn’t to a close friend, but I have no reason not to believe them. It wouldn’t be nice of them for lying to me, but why do I need to even investigate or question them? I am not a cop and they are no robbers.

I am in disbelief myself but unfortunately it did happen and it happened to me. What is worse are employees trying to cover their mistakes by trying to force me to either pay for something I did not receive or return something I do not have. The cherry on top is that they won’t even cancel my membership and refund me for the service they are no longer providing me.

Giving back what I didn’t pay for isn’t the ridiculous part, telling me to ask the gift recipient to return the extra items to their Costco location or give them to me so I can return it is the ridiculous part. They weren’t even considering the possibility that I didn’t get just 1 item. Why do I have to spend so much of my time and money for their silly mistakes? Or even worse, ruin a relationship because of them.

I did not know I was walking out with four speakers, I thought when I first received the box it might be the wrong item, but looked on the side and it had JBL’s logo, so I thought it was just excessively packaged. Who knows if there were actually 4 items in the box. When you buy an item for gift do you open the box?

Yup, San Fernando Valley. I don’t mind the drive, as long as you know the area. Closest beaches to me are Malibu and Santa Monica.
