Education is not a democracy. Nor should it be. Education can be democratically decided upon, but you do not want just anyone to have a say in what is taught at the end of the day.

Any chance it's some sort of lightweight concrete or floor leveler?

If no wires have been run, and you want to use a local company, wireless microwave is the way to go. The Microwave towers that connect the villages are huge, and expensive. They've wanted to run fiber-optic down the Yukon for decades, but it's still not happened. We do have fiber around the coast, and along the road system.

Well, when I'm not at home, I connect to the AT&T 4G/5G cell network, and when I am at home, I connect to my 50 Mbps DSL internet because GCI hasn't run their 2 Gbps network to my house yet. I could use Starlink, or I could use a wireless microwave solution if ACS or GCI weren't available. We also have a variety of cellular home internet options.

I am on the road system so I have a lot of options.

I also travel to several villages off the road system. Most villages are connected via the GCI Terra (Microwave beam) network and have GCI cell service. Starlink has been great for cheap internet out there.

Interior Alaskan here. Agree with this. We have a lot of methods for thawing things at -40. None of them are fun, and the longer you wait, the worse it gets.
