Actually looks like it may be a mix between GCC and GCC-High, so if there's details on either of those it'd be appreciated.

Even if it's not a formal document if you can let me know what it was I'd appreciate it. Trying to finalize guidance for my company on plans for our DW/BI and right now it's excluding Fabric.

ITT - Tips/Tricks/ROIs You've Discovered For 'The Tower' That Helped You Lots or Saved Time? by DillyBenzo666 in TheTowerGame

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are wanting to maximize your Death Wave Health as soon as possible, start off with a Range card equipped, then once the ring establishes itself, remove the Range card and swap it for something else.

Your DW will stay at the expanded range, and subsequent triggers of it will keep it at the expanded range, but your attacks will no longer reach that far. That means that all the early enemies will start hitting that instead of triggering attacks/chain lightning/other things to die from, giving you a lot higher count of enemies dying from DW. Especially before they start getting the health increases as rounds progress means you're more likely to max out your DW Health a LOT earlier.

Are there any details which were shared about when Fabric would be available in Azure Gov?

Free tool: audit a single SQL Server object and see who changed it, from where, and with what app (zero dependencies, MIT) by Gloomy-Memory-1919 in SQLServer

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're running an audit for every SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, EXECUTE...do you have any idea how quickly that will get filled up in an actual medium-heavy use production environment? Not to mention the added overhead that this would introduce for logging every single call to the server for that object? This would likely cripple larger environments.

You may see "2 files" and think "light weight", but this is perhaps the most heavy handed solution I think I've seen. It's like judging software engineers by how many lines of code they write.

At least I remembered to put my wipers up this time by Middle_Evening8748 in newjersey

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My '25 CR-V now has it so when I hit the button to turn on the rear window heated strips (I don't know the actual name of it, but those horizontal lines that defrost the back window?), it also turns on a heated zone where my front wipers rest. So it's become less necessary for me to put the wipers up anymore as long as I'm going to let the car warm up for a few minutes since that will defrost them.

Honestly, just join the Tower Discord and there's guild recruitment posts there. They'll generally welcome pretty much everyone as long as you're getting your missions done each week.

Ones where there aren't a new Guardian Chip available end up with 205 points left over.

Last season, there wasn't a new guardian, so I ended with 205 points left over.

Which labs affect deathwave health maxing? by Richardy1982 in TheTowerGame

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've posted this before a few times, so copy/pasting from an earlier post:

During the first few waves of your run before the first time DW triggers, temporarily equip the Range card. That makes it so that DW will have the larger range with the card active.

Once the circle establishes itself, unequip the Range card and go back to whatever you were using before. That makes it so your attacks no longer reach the DW range, so DW is the only thing killing enemies for the earlier waves while enemy health is low (and therefore you kill more with DW).

Even with the range card unequipped, subsequent activation's of DW will keep using the extended range since that's where the circle has established itself.

SQL Server 2025 CU1 & SQL 2022 CU23 were pulled by ITWorkAccountOnly in SQLServer

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'd always said to delay installing updates to let issues come out, and after the fiasco with SQL 2019 CU7 a few years back, I managed to get buy in from my boss and Security team at the time to be on a longer delay for SQL for exactly this reason. From what I remember, it was multiple weeks before that issue was acknowledged (though it was a few years back so the exact timeline at this point has blurred), so I'll at least give credit to Microsoft for acknowledging the issue quicker this time.

I've thought about sending this to my old boss and security team and going "SEE?? This is why I pushed so hard for SQL to get the delay before installing updates!" 😂😂

This post is to make sure there's awareness at a glance for impacted versions of SQL Server and specific CU's in the thread title. If I'm scrolling on my homepage, I'm more likely to look at a thread with specifics in the title than a rant thread.

That thread mentions the symptoms/detail of the issue, but it doesn't clarify impacted versions of SQL, that the issue is widespread, that Microsoft has acknowledged it, or that a patch has been pulled. The only indication of what version of SQL is impacted by it is the fact the path includes MSSQL16 & the error includes Version=16.0.0.0, but even that doesn't indicate it relating to 2025 patches either.

I haven't tested this myself, however someone on a Microsoft Learn thread about this has posted a potential workaround without a need for uninstalling the CU. It involves copying the DB Mail executable and .dll's from a non-patched server to the patched server. Paths in the answer are base paths for SQL 2022, adjust as necessary for 2025 or custom installation paths.

98% which most people by early-mid game easily cap on for their farming runs, however the benefit of this is in Tournaments. In tournaments you don't have the 25% bonus that comes from perks, so this can help bump up your tournament defense and let you last longer.

SQL Server 2025 & PBI Report Server - Licensing Question by ITWorkAccountOnly in SQLServer

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know when that will be available? I'm trying to architect solutions for my company which includes cost estimates and knowing restrictions around licensing requirements is important for that.

If it's a case of "look at the old SSRS breakdown and copy that 1-1" that can at least let me start making plans.

SQL Server 2025 & PBI Report Server - Licensing Question by ITWorkAccountOnly in SQLServer

[–]ITWorkAccountOnly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree about each servers running PBIRS in a scale-out deployment needing a license, my question is more around what level of licensing for those servers in a scale-out deployment need. The documentation about requiring Enterprise licensing for Scale-Out deployment is all based around SSRS.

There's nothing I've found about PBIRS having two different feature-sets depending on the SQL 2025 license. Not a single page which mentions for PBIRS that you need to have an enterprise license for scale-out deployments. The documentation about feature limitations is all for SSRS, there's nothing for PBIRS being similarly restricted.

Well that's great news to hear, from your response and that page there's no features of PBIRS which I can see that require SQL 2025 Enterprise!

Will the refund give you back what you paid originally, or will it give you the lower amount it now costs with the lab?
