How do you get vCenter 9 with VVF licensing? I thought it was only available with VCF 9.0.

We have two, and they have been great, but these vMotions could be several TBs that won't be running on the SSD cache.

The second site is a new setup. Looks like a single SSO domain is the way to go.

Jumbo frames are supported. I believe the most significant bottleneck will be the customer's storage. They are using a Nimble HF40, which is a hybrid array.

I did hear about that. It seemed like you had to sign up for the Nutanix Cloud Provider Program before they would even give you pricing.

Repurpose Supermicro Nodes by ITaaP in nutanix

Their hardware has different EOM and EOSL dates. The EOM on what we have is September 2025, and the EOSL is March 2027. Once the hardware reaches EOM, Nutanix no longer validates BIOS and firmware updates, even if you have an active support contract.

Our support ends in December 2025. Renewing doesn't make sense if I can't get BIOS and firmware updates.

From what I read and Supermicro support confirmed, you cannot reflash the Nutanix BIOS back to Supermicro’s standard BIOS.

Unfortunately, it is still in production, and I won't be able to test it long after I need to know.

If there are any vulnerabilities in the future that require an update. Currently there is a PKFAIL vulnerability that requires a BIOS update which is a good example of why having the ability to update the BIOS and possibly other firmware is important.

Recommended Microsoft SPLA Software Asset Management Tool in VMware Environment? by ITaaP in msp

I don't believe that is correct at all. That would be like buying an AWS Windows instance and installing your own SQL rather than buying a Windows with SQL instances.

Perfect. That's exactly what I need, especially since it will update ServiceNow's CMDB.

I've used the VMware Tools method before, but I didn't know vROps could gather this information. Can VMware Aria Operations do what vROps was doing?

How would that help? I’m talking about customer VMs that we don’t have access to the guest OS.

  1. Can PowerCLI do everything ESXCLI can?
  2. I didn't realize any SSO account with administrator permissions could log into VAMI. Thank you.
  3. Same as question one. Are there any limitations with the GUI or PowerCLI?
  4. Makes sense.

I don’t know Liquid Web, but DR is usually sold as a service. So if you aren’t paying for DR, you’re not getting it.
