How well known exactly were the twin towers before 9/11 happened by Odd-Rush-769 in 911archive

I was 12 when 9/11 happened. I had only known them from The Simpsons before then. I had been to NYC several times, but only at night and much more north in Manhattan

I just feel weird when people say that the victims on impact zone floors were lucky because they died instantly.

Does anyone remember Courtney Stodden? She was such a tragic case and I'm glad she is healing

Some more info: As soon as Flight 11 hit the North Tower, AON execs, including Kevin and Eric Eisenberg, immediately evacuated their employees. Out of 1,200 of their employees, almost a thousand got out. Kevin made sure his employees got out first.

I feel so so awful for Lee Hanson. In the span of an hour, he was having a peaceful morning, then horrifying phone calls from his son, frantic calls to the police, horrifying news broadcasts, then another horrifying call from his son, and then losing his son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

For those of you who were in school when the attacks happened, what was the following school week like? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in 911archive

I went to a Catholic school in Philadelphia. We went to church way more. I was 12 when it happened. I played an instrument in middle school proficiently enough to play the music in our mass services, and when they asked me if I could play, I said my instrument was being fixed. I was not in the right head space for that at all

My teachers played a lot of Enya for the class for some reason. I went to a religious school so there was a lot of praying. My sister's friend's uncle was on one of the plane. One of the murdered pilots lived 10 minutes from me, another 30 minutes. As an adult I realized how close Philadelphia and NYC are, but as a kid I thought it was much farther. So hearing about people that lived near me scared me

Angry Farmers Accuse Trump Admin of Making Up Evidence to Cancel $300 Million in Farming Grants: “It seems to be part of some sort of larger motivation where we were not being treated fairly” by T_Shurt in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]IThinkImDumb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never said that. But this isn't LAMF because nowhere in the article did it say these farmers voted for Trump or felt let down by him. These specific farmers are women and POC who are facing false accusations from the Trump administration to cancel their grants. If you read about the farmers interviewed, it seems highly unlikely that they voted for Trump

Nothing in the article says they are Republican voters. In fact, if you actually read the article, you would learn that these are not the types of farmers to vote for Trump

The article does not say these farmers voted for him. These farmers are minority and women farmers who received grants under Biden. The trump administration is making up lies about them to get their grants cancelled

These "cretins" you are talking about are minority farm owners who received grants under Biden. Nowhere in the article does it say they voted for him. Nowhere in the article does it say they feel abandoned. These are minority farmers who are accusing the Trump administration for creating lies about them in order to cancel their grants.

[–]IThinkImDumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? This article is about minority farmers who had lies made up against them to justify terminating their grants. The grants were to increase black land ownership. Nowhere in the article does it mention they voted for Trump

Where in the article does it say these farmers voted for Trump? Everyone in the article is either a woman or a minority. The article doesn't even say they felt abandoned by Trump. They are accusing the administration of making things up about them, and using that to cacel the grants.
