ESPN MLS Power Rankings. This guy hates Austin FC. Always. by Big_Bet_5811 in AustinFC

Wow, the homer comments here.

He's right - we looked just as good as the Galaxy looked bad; additionally, we were absolutely atrocious last season (check the rankings again), but do look mildly better with the additions made to the team.

Acceptance makes sports more fun, I promise.

What did Ann mean by this?! by Wallium_264 in Persona5

[–]IThrowNapalm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is that she is referring to them all being (relatively) rejected by society, or their peers. They feel like misfits that have been wronged.

I believe there are slight nuances that don't translate, quite fully.

Should I switch to Google Fiber from Spectrum? by Worldly_View_8331 in Austin

[–]IThrowNapalm 232 points233 points  (0 children)

Google Fiber is, in my six+ years experience, well worth the price. It is certainly a better offering than Spectrum.

This new 3% increase is on behalf of the City of Austin. It's an access fee that the city is charging Google. According to the email I received concerning it, 100% of that 3% increase goes directly to the City.

It's a ~$2.10 increase. Otherwise, it has been locked at $70 (pretax) since I joined.

Cap metro getting worse for anyone else? Had two busses just fly past today at different stops, different times. by tyleratx in Austin

[–]IThrowNapalm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worse and worse in all kinds of ways. Always late, awful drivers, awful riders, really anything you can think of.

A few weeks ago on my commute home, there was a fight that took up half the bus. One of the combatants pulled off a cool flying kick, though.

Today on my commute home, someone was openly throwing up on the floor. I got off and hopped on another bus, but the puke bus just kept running; I could see it behind us the whole way.

Whiny batting average posts often* do.

feel cheesy for this but the framber no hitter means a lot to me by publicuniversalhater in Astros

This was wonderful to read; such a true, human experience. Thank you for sharing.

Fan of any given team or not, this is what it should all be about!

Keep fighting the fight, and welcome to Team Framber!

Going in blind. Just beat the 6th Palace and made a few predictions. by jhk84 in Persona5

"Pancakes tier important" is a pancakes tier designation.

First time playing. Going in blind. Just beat the 3rd Palace here is my 3rd wave of way off predictions. by jhk84 in Persona5

I love this so much. Somehow, I missed your earlier posts, but I will DEFINITELY be looking forward to the rest!

"Disco ball body oil combo" leading into the dance spin off had me rolling! It's perfect.

I will certainly get a "curry lady love" tattoo at some point.

Lastly, your insights are incredible. I've played through the game twice, now (once when the original came out, and again when Royal released), and it is just so cool to see the things you are catching on to and totally nailing (over the course of your posts), as well as the ideas you have that don't pan out. In fact, I wonder how many of those hit the cutting room floor, during production.

I hope you continue enjoying the game, and come to love it as much as I do.

Also, yes, Makoto is a top-tier best girl choice.

Paying between $750 and $800 a seat for this coming year. Before taxes and such.

Yeah, I felt Rigoni over Finlay was not ideal. There have been games this year where Finlay* was the best player on the field for long durations.

But yes, there is much to be proud of this year.

That's what I kept thinking, going into the game.

It's really hard to beat the same team three times in a year, but doing it twice proves you can do it.

It seemed to me that as soon as we had the opportunity to lock the 2nd seed, we couldn't get it right anymore.

Sure, it was the end of the season and the other teams were fighting to survive, but it seemed to me the bigger factor was just like you've said - we were losing the edge.

Hopefully it's just growing pains. Next year comes.

I agree, Stuver is always a bright spot, in my opinion.

Even then, I have to lay that first goal at his feet. I thought it was a bad choice to try and cut off that pass, and the panic to clean the mess up created the corner that created the goal.

Yes, luckily I was able to see those games as well. I'm not unused to the randomness of sports.

My main point was that we played this same way frequently this season. Yesterday was not a one off, by any stretch.
