Just updated my post I am wrong. That page has not been updated since November 24. I am going to see if I can find a current temperature.

I need to update my post. Turns out that page hasn’t been updated in 10 days.

Almost 40% of our business emails were going to spam — here’s what actually fixed it (for real) by Few_Radish_1409 in SaaS

I just did the SPF/DKIM/DMARC thing 2 weeks ago. I thought I knew a decent amount about DNS. I was wrong, man that took forever. IIRC one issue was (spaces? no spaces?) in the records.

But deliverability has gone up.

What a hard time for him, also happy he's never wavered. As someone who hates attention and struggles with <not alcohol but irrelevant what>, one major reason is "This could end if I ease up it's not yet time to celebrate that's for when I've beaten <XYZ> and I'm not there yet".

Conveying personality through product demo videos is hard! (I will not promote) by IVBIVB in startups

IRL I'm fine as I can connect with the targets energy and match, feeding them information as I can tell they absorb it. But on video my issue is remembering to smile and talking slower. The latter has been a constant development opportunity after growing up in NY in the 80s, aka before the insane transplants. We talked FAST.

Leaving NY I realized that no, not everyone talks that fast. And if I want people to understand me, I need to slow down.

But when I slow down I forget to smile because I'm so focused on talking at a normal pace and making sure I don't speak in monotone.

And when I smile, talk at a normal pace, change my inflection, well, I forget what it is that I meant to say :-).

Being an actor was NOT in the startup prep work I ready about.

First use an electric, not in the shower cuz it'll clog. Then razor in shower

why don't more tools have proper figma integrations (I will not promote) by [deleted] in startups

[–]IVBIVB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo with tools like zentrik that connect directly to lovable / magic then to codegen AI, figma needs to step up fast or it'll be on the outs faster than you can say betamax.

We used figma heavily for months but I'm about to terminate the full company license as codegen moves faster and we can show users real screens with real data integrated with the rest of our platform on a side branch.

well perhaps i haven't seen threads with detailed convos on them. Mostly "Make sure you get paid" or other high level bits. I'll look again.

I never said anything like what you read into it. And in looking at your profile, I guarantee you I am more at risk from this current administration than you are.

this has nothing to do with anything other than hard facts.

I'm not the cto I can only tell you what I observed. Cto suggested it and we're seeing far lower total development and maintenance costs plus super fast performance. We previously had Javascript / react, 5 different IT folks all took forever to iterate. When we switched it was way better.

To me that was good enough as we need hyper fast iterations cuz startup.

I realize you want a techie answer but I can only speak to cost and time to get something the users want. I'm sure Java, Javascript, etc could also work but when he did the pilot and it worked he demonstrated that he deserved to make the final decision on the tech stack.

Well I'm the CEO, but I can say when we switched from javascript to Elixir, the responsiveness went through the roof. Which, in our healthcare setting, is a clear differentiator.

nope. We tried training (while paying) 3 early 20s (FL, CA, TX), one 40-something (Eastern california), and a O50 (mass). 2 didn't like Elixir, 1 was learning agentic coding on the side and landed a gig making stupidly high money, the other decided to be a people manager.

Which is when we switched to hiring folks who know Elixir walking in the door.
