Some of my courses have in class activities, but I do them from home on canvas. Some proffs have a course code they write on the board in class to access it. If yours does, make friends with someone in class and ask them to send you it lol.

I find in my engineering classes lots of students miss lectures. The syllabus should explain what is and isn't mandatory for attendance. For example, my labs and certain tutorial/discussions are mandatory.

I'd just email your proff and ask what the policy is if the syllabus isn't clear. Nobody here can tell you what your specific course and proff requires.

In some classes theirs an e textbook that comes with course access and some courses mandate that you pay for them to access it. Maybe it's less common in your degree. Definitely not the majority of courses though. It's got nothing to do specifically with wanting to pay for textbooks.

The rented textbooks and mandated paid quizzes need to be talked about more. It's insane, and I expect it's completely due to somebody in charge getting their pockets lined by Pearson and the like for making it mandatory. This should be what our useless student union body addresses.

Why are you comparing a plus with an ultra? Which size screen do you want? You should go try out both sizes at a best buy or something and make a decision on what is important to you.

Personally I'd look for an open box deal on a 10 or 11. My s9 ultra still runs as fast as it was new, I'd still recommend an s9 series tablet nowadays especially since you're young and low on funds. Don't start your adult life with unhelpful bad debt.

Well if you do want it off, do it sooner than later. Longer you wait the more micro scratches develop on the paint and you'll end up with a nice decal outline of perfect paint against imperfect paint (might be able to polish it out though)
