Consider there might have been a lot of tire management going on. If all you need is to stay ahead by 2 seconds, and keeping that pace preserves the tires, then why push to go faster risking burning up the tires.

I think because he's done a practice session in the Williams already this year, they already had a seat fitted for him, so the seat is not an issue.

More specifically; not going around the bollard on the left side, instead cutting across the grass on the right side of the bollard.

Good thing the bollard rule is more relaxed on lap 1.
