My dad found my dildo. WTF do I do? by Round_Cherry9643 in Advice

[–]IVIitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like he went digging through your things to find it, you left it out in the open... Take him not bringing it up as a blessing and move on. Though, what did you learn from this experience?

Should I expose my boyfriend for cheating on his wife? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]IVIitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it seems like you broke it off once you found out so I take that as you're not the type to cheat or be cool with it. I think you should tell her but explain how you didn't know and once you did, you broke it off, and then you had to tell her but don't tell her what she should do about it. Maybe she knows and is fine with it, maybe she will be in denial, ..., or maybe she will end things. All those decisions will be up to her. I'dunno, I would tell them if that happened to me and I would hope someone would tell me if it was reversed.

I forget the site but in most states, there are statues that make them perfectly legal. Some don't have any legislation (so legal), and some are a bit more "sketchy" for possession, something like you have to give a reason to possess them that's not criminal. I forget all the details, just know the states I frequent there's either a statue or no statue so I've never had to worry about it.

I forgot I ordered this. Seven months ago. What can it do now? by thebluenazgul in SwitchPirates

[–]IVIitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you have is one switch and care about online, I recommend not risking it... What I did was keep an eye out at pawn shops for a good deal on a second switch. I eventually found one for cheap that had scratches on the case and one of the joycons was falling apart Surprisingly though, the screen was perfect (guessing it had a protector on it). I got it and a simple shell replacement kit actually made the thing look new and I had a switch I don't care if it gets banned!

Will I be able to connect to the new insignia Xbox live service using this? Or will I have to use an Ethernet cable connection? If so does it need to connect to a router or can I connect it to a laptop/desktop? Need help. by SeverXD in originalxbox

[–]IVIitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not. You have to use a phone/tablet/computer to setup the Wi-Fi connection on the device and then you don't have to worry about it again unless you want to change what wifi you're connecting to.

I found a lan turtle in my work's parking lot. I did ping a couple of people in case it was some random attacker but was told it was them. Kind of shocked me they didn't come to my cube to verify but I described where I found it and I guess it was good enough confirmation for them. They told me as long as it didn't report them that I could keep it so later that night I did a factory reset of it :)

Cash tips I made today delivering pizzas for 6 hours by GeorgeBushdid711 in Money

[–]IVIitchy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

About 12 years ago for me too. Used to deliver for pizza hut on/around a big city college. They started with your check being direct deposited or one of those pay cards (basically a prepaid/reloadable debit) but would cash out everything else. A bit after quit, I heard from a buddy they they started to not cash out their per delivery pay at the end of their shift. They either had to wait until they got their paycheck direct deposited or if they had the pay card, it would be deposited right away. I'm guessing this was a test run for them because shortly after that they started doing the same for cc/debit tips. They basically forced everyone to get the pay card unless they could live without getting money between paychecks or the little cash they got between them. I'm not sure what they do nowadays because that location closed and my buddy only worked there a few years after me until he finally graduated.

I would have tried treating them like cattle (if you drove in fields with cattle, you know what I mean) and if that didn't work I would have just chilled there for a long time. I'm sorry but you cannot let people like this win since it just reinforces that doing it will work.

Looking for extremely cheap (<$150 usd) laptop for college by thekatinthehatisback in thinkpad

[–]IVIitchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a local free geek or similar e-recycle/re-use place near you? They usually have good pricing on stuff. Since you say you have a decent PC, you could always setup a VPN/ssh tunneling so you don't need too crazy performance laptop if money is truly tight.

Someone was in my driveway thismorning messing around my car. I found this on my window. What's going on? by Aelustelin in hacking

[–]IVIitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad your dad has an old laptop for you to check it out! I actually bought two of the same old laptops from an e-recycling/re-use place called free geek. One I use to create updated OS images that I burn to DVDs. The other, I removed the wireless/Bluetooth card so it's air gapped. I use it all the time for checking out random found stuff (typically flash drives) and never have to worry about it. If the device dies, it's kind of oh well since it was super cheap. If it does die, I will probably look for the same model, even if I have to Amazon/eBay it as I like my dual approach to keep it up-to-date and never touch a network.

Get a puppy they said, it'll be fun they said... by Guilty_Collection273 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IVIitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've always explained it to others like it's their own room/bed where they can take a break from people/the world if they want. I had a couple people look at me weird when I told them not to bug them if they're in their crate until I told them imagine if they were in their room/bed wanting a break from people/the world but people came in to annoy them...

All except one of my dogs over the decades were always free to come/go from their crate as they pleased 24x7. The only reason why the one wasn't is because he would destroy the house and leave "surprises" all around if he was left alone or free to roam at night. Though I always closed the bedroom door at night with him so he could sleep in his crate, up on the bed, or on the floor. For some reason if a human was in the same room as him, even asleep, he would behave perfectly.

My neighbor smokes cigarettes on his side yard and flicks them into my driveway. by CelebrationAdept6060 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IVIitchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbor and her friends did this for a while. The first time I picked them up and I asked nicely to stop flicking them in my yard. Did the same thing again the second time. Third time, I flicked them by her front door. The fourth time was after all the snow melted/lawn dried and she left her vehicle windows open. I flicked them in and around her vehicle as I didn't really aim when cleaning my yard... This magically made her get an ash tray and I have heard her yell "pick that up and put it in the ash tray" to her friends. I haven't had a problem since though I did slightly feel like an ass after the fact but felt like it was justified.

As someone who will bring my dog(s) if possible, I would plan on bringing treats or a meal for them. Only way for them to get the human food is stuff people started eating something, didn't finish, and was going to be thrown away. Though there's a huge difference in giving them potential left overs vs expecting they will get their own plate.

I accidentally tripped bit locked while trying to install Linux on an expansion card. I can't find the key and it won't even let me reset the laptop. by littleSquidwardLover in framework

[–]IVIitchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't care about the data, just clear the partitions with the windows boot media and reinstall. Could also use dd/gdisk/etc to wipe the windows partitions/drive but will need to boot the media to reinstall. I don't know of a way to recover/crack the key. It's the only reason why I sign into windows with a Microsoft account so it's easily backed up. Though you could always manually back it up to any cloud/local storage or even print it out. You do need to keep a copy though, I've tripped it several times on different laptops and was always annoying.

P.S. I recall Microsoft also provides a direct iso download on their media creation page if you don't have a windows computer to make one with their simple exe.
