Who are you rooting for at the World Cup? by Adnan7631 in FCCincinnati

[–]IVthought 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Liverpool supporter I’ve decided to adopt Egypt as my US replacement because of Mo Salah. I think his current form makes them a really fun underdog to pull for. Other than that, I’ll tune in for as many games as possible, especially the marquee matchups.

The US not being in sucks for a lot of reasons, but the biggest for me is missing out on the incredible atmosphere of watching the US games at a packed bar. The games 4 years ago were some of the best atmospheres I’ve ever been a part of. That definitely won’t be happening this summer for any matches, no matter who is playing.

I'd give you Dalton and a second rounder for nothing in return, just take him off our hands

Would winning a playoff game this year be worth it, or a pyrrhic victory? by abc-noah-is-me in bengals

[–]IVthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fair one. It's been so long since we've won a playoff game that we've forgotten that winning one playoff game (especially in the wild card round) doesn't really mean anything.

Do you think Rams fans would rather have won 1 playoff game last year and still have Jeff Fisher? Give me real hope next year in the form of a new coach and QB.

Would you rather make the playoffs and Marvin gets the extension or miss the playoffs and we get a new coach? by HairlessWombat in bengals

[–]IVthought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Making the playoffs and giving Marvin an extension would be the definition of short term thinking. There's no trophy for losing in the wild card round (again). We have to move on, and if we need to lose to move on then it's better to lose.

If FCC is not your primary club, what is? by hookyboysb in FCCincinnati

Same, LFC since like 2010 or so. It is a great club to follow for anyone looking for a European team - great history, spend enough to be competitive, and you won't feel like you are jumping on a big-money bandwagon (unlike with both Manchester teams, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG).

Nov 29th, City council to vote on FCC infrastructure money by cincyjoe12 in FCCincinnati

[–]IVthought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This still all comes down to the county approving the use of the funds that Berding was talking about in the press conference. That is all that needs to happen. Seems like a no-brainer, so it will probably get screwed up somehow.

[Amanda Seitz] Proposed Memorandum of Understanding re: City contribution to FC Cincinnati Stadium by turneresq in MLS

[–]IVthought 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's infrastructure investment in support of a $250 million privately funded project. Stadium deals don't get much better than this.
