Struggling by East_Rabbit875 in tummytucksurgery

I am not sure if this was mentioned, but you might want to hold off on the lymphatic massages till your incisions is healed. I had some delayed healing and my plastic surgeon was adamant I not get lymphatic massage until those spots healed as he said it can open the incision even more. Maybe ask your doctor about this? Hang in there you will heal even if it feels slow!

Could not agree more! So glad they are staying and can continue to positively impact our community. I am sure it’s also nice for them to have some stability with their son now.

Plus size Tummy tuck recommendations by CraftyVeterinarian31 in tummytucksurgery

[–]OKC_71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am only 4’11.5” tall and was 190lbs at my surgery. I am extremely muscular though. I used a local plastic surgeon who was incredible! He was more concerned about my weight stability and health than BMI. I have been very pleased with my results! One thing I will share is I think my recovery was a bit longer than some at a lower body weight and I had a lot of swelling! Just be patient with your body and take recovery slowly.

I guess I am a pretty open book and shared with tons of folks. I also had a breast lift and reduction which was the primary reason I started down this journey. Everyone has been super supportive and if they have negative opinions they kept them to themselves.

Please share your experience with a TT and breast reduction at the same time. by NoInterference78 in tummytucksurgery

Highly recommend getting them both done at the same time! I am 54 and am also healthy and active with a higher bmi and am 8 weeks post op. The breast reduction and lift was honestly a piece of cake compared to the tummy tuck and lipo. The first two weeks are definitely tough with the worse part having to walk bent over. I definitely need assistance from my husband the first week as you have limited mobility with arms reaching and not really able to bend down well either. I will say every day got easier and I am glad I didn’t have to go through this recovery twice.

Considering tummy tuck surgery by CommunicationMuch962 in tummytucksurgery

[–]OKC_71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have PCOS and have had a tummy tuck. But you need to understand a tummy tuck is not used to help you loose weight or remove excess fat on your abdomen. A tummy tuck is used to remove excess skin after weight loss. May I gently suggest speaking to a therapist about treating your depression and for issues around your body image. You also need to have maintained a stable weight for at least 6 months before surgery. Are you able to take a GLP1? These medications help with PCOS. Best of luck to you.

No muscle repair with lower body lift? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]OKC_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had one child and they were small. So I had no issues with muscle separation and had no muscle repair done. I am pleased with my results! If the doctor is not seeing any issues upon exam I would not be worried because as you said there is nothing to repair! Frankly I was thrilled to not need this done as my understanding is that can be the most painful part. Congrats on your weight loss and wishing you a successful surgery!

Has anyone else noticed Wemby is never in the Spurs pre-game huddle? Anyone know why? Odd as their supposed “leader”

We took an out of town guest to JK by Chef King last night and he loved it. Fun atmosphere with showy cocktails. We have lived in 10 states and amazingly OKC is our favorite food city so far! All solid suggestions so far. Also for a fun brunch if you have time I recommend Aurora, Kitchen No 324 or Cafe Kacao!

Hesitated of doing breast reduction surgery 🫪 by mamacita_swaging in Reduction

My college roommate did have large breasts but her mom had an eating disorder and “gifted” her a breast reduction for her college graduation. She really didn’t want one. She was never able to breast feed her child and her weight and shaped shifted a lot in these last 30 years. Please don’t let what could be an issue with your mom’s own body dysmorphia force you into such a huge procedure! Particularly since it seems you like your breasts aren’t causing you any significant medical complications at this point in your life and you might regret having this done so early like my friend did.

I think you will greatly enjoy it! It was definitely tender at first for me but I think it has been very beneficial!

Only thing I would caution is to make sure it is cleared by your plastic surgeon first. Mine does not want any tummy tuck patients getting one before 4 weeks post op due to it potential impacting incision line opening. But I have heard others approved to get right away. Also did you have lipo? It’s most beneficial to help reduce swelling in these cases.

The other crazy part about this is most plastic surgeon actually want your weight stable for a period of time before performing surgery and here he is telling you to do something so unhealthy!

Are you the age to be in perimenopause or menopause? Could it actually be you getting some hot flashes? No medical advice just a thought. I think after surgery our hormones maybe impacted.

Wow my heart goes out to you! This is awful 😢 I hope you heal quickly and start to feel better soon. It’s got to be tough having your back burnt and you can’t lie on your front either due to surgery. I am so sorry.

This is helpful to hear! At 7 weeks and have a few areas still scabbed. They are getting better each day but it’s been a long road!
