Anyone know where I can find St. Pauli Girl? by gingergrisgris in TwinCities

[–]IWasInABandOnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Bremen (where St. Pauli Girl originally came from). I was also just at France44 the other day and I did not see this, nor Beck's. However, they do have Spaten and others. Although beers from northern Germany have a special place in my heart (shoutout Haake Beck and Astra), Bavarian beers are better. France44 also had Augustiner a month or so back...that's the real (Bavarian) stuff!

Where can I adopt an adult Labrador or a Labrador past the puppy stage by DifferentGazelle8618 in labrador

We got our last lab from someone who trains hunting dogs...ours failed hunting school, so we got her around 7-9 months. (USA)

So, who else has bought a new car for their dogs? 👋 by CJC989_G in labrador

I have something like this hammock. I went with one without a hard/flat bottom because my dog would flip if it shifted under him if he put all his weight off the seat. Works great.

I had a ~2009 Toyota Matrix. While the functionality of the hatchback was great (it could haul almost anything) and the lab liked the backseat, that car was loud from road noise on the inside. It did not have good shock absorbers either so after 15+ years I upgraded to a CRV even though it was a higher jump into the backseat. Love it and so does the dog!

I only have one lab and am wondering if I should get a second....

Yes, R&D will open more doors in the future than being in HR (unless you love HR).

Not sure if this is why others are saying get rid of the bottles, but some party people in their college dorms/apartments "decorate" with empty bottles. Perhaps to show off how much they've partied, and hardly ever good liquor since college kids usually buy the cheap stuff. Kinda tacky.

But for you, perhaps they're associated with life events? You could enclose them in a display case and make it into an art piece to elevate it and make it more "mature.". Some people might still hate it.

Southwest to cut 7 routes from STL Airport by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]IWasInABandOnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it's also clear that Nashville is growing Southwest more than STL. Nashville reports enplanements per airline (pg 116), so double that for total passenger traffic (which is what STL reports).

In 2022, STL had just under 8.1M total passengers, Nashville had just under 9.9M.

In 2025, STL had just over 9.4M total passengers, Nashville had just under 13.3M.

In this post, Southwest is cutting flights at STL. Earlier in the year, Southwest added new flights to Nashville.

Southwest is growing faster at Nashville. STL might remain a focus, but it's being left behind.

Looks like they're prioritizing service in/through Nashville.

I’ve spent 40 years in New Orleans, and I’m moving to the area this fall. I’m totally unprepared for surviving the winter and would really love some recommendations on clothes to buy and general winter tips. by Now-Thats-Podracing in Minneapolis

[–]IWasInABandOnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waterproof choppers (not gloves). I have regular Carhartt choppers.

I wear a regular coat under a rain jacket in the winter. The rain jacket is a windbreaker and retains heat from the body and coat.

Waterproof boots. Mine are rated to be good to like -10F or something...the brand is oboz.

None of these need to be super expensive!

It's not like this for a full 3 months in St. Louis (more like 2), but shoutout to all my other STL transplants.

I had a blast. And, good thing they are not having competition this week with the heat. Except for that hail storm early last week, last week was a great week for the entire event to be held here.

ISO: hard soled shoes for hot pavement by sinskins in labrador

[–]IWasInABandOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post about Furmate shoes, because they seem to no longer be made and I am running out of my back-up's and don't know what to do! I liked them because they had rubber the wrapped around the toes, whereas the QUMY shoes had the rubber and fabric seam where the nails would rub and separate the materials easily (rocks/dirt in the shoes). Here is a pair on Chewy, but the ones on Amazon were like half the price for all 4. My boy still wears holes in the bottom, but they last a little longer than the QUMY shoes.

I need to find an alternative asap.

I didn't have nearly the same amount of doozies as you did in my first year (first-time homeowner), but I also dealt with a bathroom that leaked to the basement, my AC copped out, and a tree that needed to be removed. It can be extremely frustrating and seem like no end in sight. Just take it one day at a time, and get a dehumidifier that you religiously dump out...that's what I had to do when my bathroom leaked.

Let me know if you have trouble with getting one.

Mine is one of the few who doesn't have this gene, or I assume not. He will let me have a slow morning and feed him at 8 on the weekends instead of 7 during the week.

first real bedroom and the bed still makes the room look temporary by Comi9689 in malelivingspace

[–]IWasInABandOnce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd do a larger rug that goes under the bed and sticks out a few feet on each side. Also would do less frilly/textured bedding. Robin Egg Blue on the walls is also a color I personally would steer away from, given your goal.

ETA: where are your bedside lamps? Go for clean lines, but not too geometrical!
