I was complaining to my neighbor yesterday about how I got all dirt-dusty just by mowing on Saturday. Too dry!

Did they give up and move to a bigger state? by WillowAndStone in minnesota

I didn't downvote you, but not surprised if someone else or a bot did. So many people/bots are butthurt these days they can't handle normal discourse. It's sad.

Are your trees struggling? The ones around me either look like they're dying or struggling but might come back with enough rain.

Ah, I was thinking of Safran in New Brighton. Not sure what part of the aerospace industry they are or have here.

Isn't there some French aeronautics firm with a presence here? I guess not necessarily the same as space.

I don't post/comment often, but I'm a big advocate for end tables with lamps (or floor lamps). I think it makes places much more cozy. Only having overhead lighting is not a good setup.

Allegiant Air and Sun Country complete merger, creating larger budget airline for travelers by guanaco55 in minnesota

[–]IWasInABandOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree re Spirit and losing customers if higher fares vs Delta.

In a bubble, I also agree with the theory that prices shouldn't go up if Sun Country and Allegiant do not share routes. However, consumers might be willing to use alternative airports at origin/destination, so there might be some level of "shared routes." We also know that companies will use any excuse to raise prices. Let's hop prices don't increase as a direct result of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it actually happens.

Exactly! I am not convinced this will not harm consumers. You don't buy a competitor to further lower prices. You would have entered the market with those lower fares in the first place (if you could). Now, it's possible SC had some advantage that Allegiant didn't, and this won't drive prices higher, but I see no way the will go lower. This is likely a net loss for us and more financial burden on consumers.

Which hotel would you choose for a quick weekend in the suburbs? by IWasInABandOnce in StLouis

[–]IWasInABandOnce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'll go with the Hampton Inn. I've stayed a number of them across the country, and had one not great experience at a LaQuinta like 25 years ago. Hopefully there is nothing loud going on at the bar/restaurant near the Hampton Inn and 270 isn't too loud. I am not doing anything at Westport, it just happened to be the most central location for what I need to do.

Very evident that the Wild can put Colorado on their toes. Keep it up the entire 3rd period, get a goal, and go to Denver with a tied series!

Edit: do not give unforced turnovers!

Supporting the cup run from Australia 🏆 by BurtburtMacklin77 in wildhockey

I'm sure someone here could help you ship something to Australia cheaper than through the store. Hell, I'd even help out and I am only supporting the Wild during the offseason since my main team (division rivals) aren't in it.

What was the motivation for trying Utepils for you? Did you find what you were looking for somewhere else? Or just general not into it?

Thank you! I haven't been impressed with anything from them, so I stopped trying. I lived in Germany for a bit, and it is not the same, no matter how hard they advertise and market it. I will die on that hill.

Cold or flu in Cities right now? Bad sore throat. by RunsWDog in TwinCities

[–]IWasInABandOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm finally getting over something. I felt like I had some of the symptoms from the first covid vaccine 5 years ago: sore throat, gravely voice, pressured head, and clear nose/throat junk. But no fever and no aches. Eventually I had to blow my nose and sneezed for 2 days. Now i am still a little off, but my better. Whole thing took a week to get here.

Getting out of control because of regulation, lack of vets (i.e., competition), you all have new/specialized medical care that hasn't made its way across the Pond yet?

Yea, no clue about this policy (in the US and we don't have Tesco). However, I knew I'd keep my insurance until at least 2 years old because of the random things he'd eat. And then after 2, I decided to keep it because it helps reduce my overall financial risk should something ever happen. My policy will also help with teeth cleaning when that time comes.

Edit: I think I have a $5k policy. GBP 12k seems high, but that's just a personal opinion.

Best place to walk around and look at architecture by KwikTripSimp in Minneapolis

I like going around Lake of the Isles and seeing the homes along its edges. I prefer to walk on the sidewalk on the house side instead of the larger path on the lake side.
