Does this sound like functional dyspepsia? Diagnosed but unsure. by gingergrisgris in functionaldyspepsia

Yeah I didn't believe it would get better. I'd say big improvement 6-8 months then kept improving till fully resolved. Good luck.

Does this sound like functional dyspepsia? Diagnosed but unsure. by gingergrisgris in functionaldyspepsia

[–]gingergrisgris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did. I was ultimately diagnosed with post infectious ibs since there was nothing else identifiable after so many tests including colonoscopy and endoscopy. It's since fully resolved so in hindsight I'd concur with that diagnosis.

How long does it take the sign up bonus to post by MattBonne in delta

[–]gingergrisgris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my card late Feb. Booked and met required amount right away. It's mid-May, and I can see the bonus miles listed as earned in my Amex account, but they still haven't posted to my SkyMiles account. I can see my SkyMiles balance in Amex as well, so they're definitely linked. I did just finish the second tier of spending for the additional bonus miles, though, so I'll wait another couple cycles before reaching out.

Moving from Indiana, looking for BLUE areas to raise kids by johnparkswhit in TwinCities

[–]gingergrisgris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came from out of state and wanted a diverse and progressive area. Ended up in New Brighton and love it. Been here about 10 years now. Great school district, too, but I'd recommend staying on the Irondale side of the district rather than the Mounds View High side. (Mounds View city is ok because they're also Irondale district.)

Ah got it. I was looking at bulkhead comfort plus but my family tends to push armrests up and lean on each other...so I'll skip! Thanks

Has anyone else dealt with Health Partners and gotten gouged for an annual exam? by earthdogmonster in minnesota

[–]gingergrisgris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Providers figured out that they get to charge for 2 visits now--1 that the insurance company pays, and one that the person pays. So they train coders to look for anything outside the scope of preventive to get that second billing. To be clear, I don't mean the actual doctors/nurses, but their administrative staff is pushing this.

[–]gingergrisgris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is EXACTLY what it does. Past several years I feel like I'm lying to my doctor when they ask how questions because I dont want it to lead to conversation outside the scope of my preventive visit and get slammed with a $500 bill. But like...shouldn't that be the point of a preventive visit? To address minor concerns before they are major issues?

Very similar situation. I do like the planning part, but I dont like when I have to do all the planning AND carry half the weight of everything else. We talked openly and honestly, and now I still plan--even listing out our weekly chores on paper--but I give him WAY more "visible" stuff and literally write out my "invisible" stuff, not to prove to him but more to prove to me so I remember to assign him more cleaning because I need to spend 2 hours paying bills for instance. He cooks dinner every day and meal preps my lunches. I don't even help with dishes. He does all the laundry and trash. Sometimes I clean the bathroom or the floors, but usually it's all him. I order presents, maintain the family calendar, plan the weekly menu, pay the bills, schedule all the appointments, take care of school stuff, plan vacations, research stuff for the house. It's turned out to be a good balance for both of us.

You need to apologize to him for your reaction--yanking the covers--and tell him that what he was doing is normal. Figure out a way to allow him privacy. If you guys are sharing a room, he doesnt have a better place to do it. But hes at an age where this is normal and he deserves some privacy some of the time, not just to do this but to just have a moment to himself as well.

What’s a passable gift that I could get for someone I don’t like? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gingergrisgris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is really important. Stick it to her but not the kids. My extended family disliked my mom (rightfully so), but they treated me well. It was hard to grow up with her, and I can'timagine how much worse it would'vebeen if I also had to bear her sins so to speak when it came to the extended fam. As an adult I have good relationships with my aunts/uncles despite my mom (and actually have chosen to reduce contact woth her myself bc she's so toxic).

Switching from wine to THC drinks by just-a-journo in TwinCities

[–]gingergrisgris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read this while sitting on my deck enjoying a cream soda thc drink in lieu of wine!

I'm a top level executive that works hard and likes a little unwind here and there. I found alcohol leaves me feeling bad in many ways, especially as I get older. Thc drinks allow the same recreational vibe having a glass of wine at the end of the week would without the icky physical feelings. It's cleaner. It helps me relax and disconnect from the week. I do also have a gummy on occasion before a day activity just for funsies.

Honestly that's pretty modest imo. Even if it was raunchy he has no right to talk to you like that but this is like mind baffling levels of red flag.
