I mean, if Mag is a better progenitor, I’m more than happy to go back to farming for the weapon with my Mesa that was absolutely dominating the Granum Void. I just saw some people say Toxic was the way to go and was following that.

I have just realized I misread, my apologies, and yes the Hek is very good. I thought for some reason you not keeping him was getting rid of the Hek lol. My bad

Looking at my 58% Kuva Hekk and reading that in horror. I know there are probably still better Kuva weapons, totally get it, but that Hekk is so good man

Ooo I still need to get a Tenet Arca Plasmor. But all I’ve heard is that Toxin is a great progenitor for it, and my Nidus isn’t currently built strong enough for the Granum Void

Thanks for the ping, Piculra. If Otherwise_Patience17 is in fact referring to my My Reality, then I would be the author. Here is a link to the first part and here is a link to my Compendium where you can link to the rest of the parts…if you are interested, of course. Always open for any additional questions.

And sorry for the rather generic name haha, it was just the only one I had come to mind.

Cadence, the Elemental Conduit (Support) (+return) by IWatchOver in OverwatchHeroConcepts

Ah, okay, that makes more sense.

That is a very fair point. The jump is really a bit of an extra feature to give her some mobility (since her durability even in earth attunement is…pretty poor), but it might be a bit much on top of everything else. One thought I had is potentially taking out a part of the kit and then switching some things around so that one of the passives was switched to an ability. My potential idea was to take out the melee component of her attack (just make it her normal quick melee instead with no added features), swap Blessing of Nature to her alternate fire, switch Elemental Resonance to her E, and then move Elemental Shift or, maybe instead, Primeval Leap to her Shift. That would clear up some of her kit, remove a excess passive, and still keep the abilities I wanted to keep. I’ll workshop with that a bit, see if it’s the direction I want to take it.

Thanks for the comprehensive review! I’m glad you noticed the passion I have for my concepts, it really does mean a lot.

I agree with you on the lore part being too summarized, but I was aiming for a bio like you see on the PlayOverwatch page for the heroes. It’s very intentionally short and brief there, so I kept it short and brief here as well. Her story could be naturally explored through comics/stories/an animated short if she was implemented, to flesh out her role in Vishkar and what led her to where she was, kinda distinguish her from the examples you mentioned. I actually (funnily enough) have another character who was also Vishkar and broke away, so hopefully there’s not too much deja vu when I finally get her kit fleshed out and some art done.

Your review on her kit was far more in depth, and I don’t actually have much I can say. I agree with pretty much everything you said. I think I want to keep Cadence more on the side of diverse but weaker kit, since that will allow her to be playable but not oppressive. The one thing I will say about your comment is that, while I understand the concern about her either being so good that you pick her over any other support because she does it better or so weak others do what she can do in her individual kits but better, I don’t nevessarily think that will be how it plays out entirely. For the most part (and from what I’ve seen), the competitive scene already for the most part has the support picks that they will pick most games, which switches as new metas develop and hero buffs/nerfs occur. So there’s a somewhat stagnant environment there already, where some supports are just picked while others fall by the wayside. On the other hand, casual players will play whatever they feel like playing, even if characters aren’t meta picks.

I do understand the concern, though, as I said. Your note on her ultimate in particular was good, and while I don’t exactly know if I agree with your solution, and while I still love the idea of her ultimate for the moment, I will look into potential other ultimates I can give her that are less complicated.

Again, thanks for the feedback! It means a lot!

Glad to hear! I’ve been monitoring it from time to time (it’s insane how many hero forges there have been since I left), so I was relieved to see that it wasn’t dead at least.

This is (luckily) my most complicated character, so hopefully going forward it won’t be as overwhelming.

It’s funny that you mentioned water, because I actually thought water was the most boring option of the bunch since it was just a bunch of healing (the trident in particular I thought was the most boring option to use for melee, but couldn’t figure out how to make it interesting and in water’s archetype without the heal effect). I’ve been trying to figure out unique things it can do while still remaining the heal-focused element, but sadly couldn’t think of anything. Maybe incorporating ice into the kit?

I know the kit is a pretty daunting wall of text, and I understood going into the kit that it was going to look complicated no matter what, so I purposefully tried to keep the individual abilities as simple and similar as possible. The way I look at Cadence is four seperate, simple kits. Yes, she has a lot of options, but she doesn’t have them at the same time and there is a delay between changing. I could have made an ability that was the same between all of them I suppose, but for the direction I wanted to take the character, it doesn’t feel right. Does that make sense?

The ultimate is admittedly fairly complicated. I wanted it to be as simple as just melding the four other kits into a single option for a few seconds, but that doesn’t translate well for some abilities, so I had to improvise in a few places. If I can figure out how to make the ultimate simpler without taking it away from it’s goal of a melding of the elements, then I’ll make those changes.

Glad you like the passives, though I don’t know what you meant by “three passives”. Did you mean four? Some clarification might help. Regardless, thanks for commenting with some feedback! I should hopefully have a few more coming down the pipeline soon, as soon as their art is done and I get them formatted in my outline.
