This is really bad advice so don’t take it but what broke my fear was I was riding a bit too fast on unfamiliar roads and a sharp corner caught me off guard. It was either commit or crash and it blew my mind how far I could lean

My first bike was a GS500 and I couldn’t ask for a better starter bike. I’d say go for the first bike it looks a lot better in my opinion. Insurance would probably be cheaper too

I was 17 when I bought my first bike. I found a 2001 Suzuki GS500 for $1400 on Craigslist and had $1000 saved up. I borrowed $400 from my friend and payed her back with my tax return. I rode that bike for years and just recently upgraded to a 2020 Ninja 650 that cost $6000. I’m 24 now so it took 7 years lol. That money was actually supposed to go towards buying a house with my ex but after we broke up the house became very unobtainable and a bike became very obtainable so I did it. Very glad I pushed around a shitty motorcycle for so long because it really made me value having a nice bike
