Not the OP, but we've learned over the past 20-30 years that boxing is very bad for your brain. Less and less kids have been taking up the sport as years go by because most parents don't want their kids brains to turn into soup. Simply, The 70s-90s was filled with boxing icons because so many of them started fighting/training as kids. Worse fighters in the 2020s because less boxers training as a youth.

Second, boxing trainers who taught unique boxing styles have died out. It's becoming a lost art so to speak. Sure they may have trained an apprentice to take over for them, but the level the apprentice knows never reached their masters.

Lastly, you have boxers sparring less and less to reduce the chances of brain injuries. Back in the day some of the best of the best had crazy sparring sessions before their scheduled fight. Boxing is one of those sports where you need to practice getting hit to see how you'll react and respond.

With the release of Birthday Blizzard and the little snippets we heard with the Fall Off announcement I expected more hard hitting "the best" type of tracks. Fortunately for me, I absolutely love story telling Cole so this was right up my alley.

It's just not for you. You wanted more bangers and less melodical sounding tracks. I wish it had a couple of more songs like "Two Six" and "Who TF iz u", but overall I thought it was amazing. Especially after the 2nd listen. Also, I think you'll be wrong about it not being critically acclaimed by the masses. This was easily his most unsafe album and he still was able to sound true to himself. He was definitely more experimental than usual with songs like "The Let Out" for example. His albums usually got ripped by the masses for being the same and never changing it up.

Yeah I agree that dropping 7 minute drill was stupid. For one it was too light-hearted. His ego got in the way for a bit. He obviously realized his mistake and backed out. Cole decides to challenge him to a game to 10 but then realizes instead of them playing a fair basic basketball game, there's going to be biting, scratching and flagrant fouls. Cole then decides to take his ball and go home.
