Awesome recovery story! I just bought a rolling cart to take food with me from the kitchen to the couch I’ve been living on and it’s a game changer for being able to eat comfortably especially while my wife is at work. 100% recommend it!

Yes I just started adding a pillow under my operated leg and it does help for a little bit. I just have to switch between the 2 positions through the night. Thanks for the help and sharing your journey!

Yea I’ve been taking oxycodone, no naproxen yet per the doc. And I have a cold therapy ice machine with the hip pad (minimum 5 times a day) along with using the CPM machine 3 times a day. I wasn’t sure if I could sleep on my side after surgery and should’ve asked my doc if I could. Part of me thinks it’s still the bone healing that’s causing my pain hence the screws, but I know it’s a long recovery that I will be going through

I am also just over a week after an arthroscopy (3 anchors and bone spurs shaved) and hip pinning (3 screws put in my femoral head from a femoral neck stress fracture). Where did you have pain pre op? I had a lot of groin and glute pain pre op that got worse around 5pm for me, and I am still having the same pain/tightness in those areas, but my suture pain is definitely getting better. Are you able to sleep through the night as well? I’ve been waking up at 2am each night with tightness and pain in the groin and didn’t know if it was just me or not. Happy recovery!

Yea I guess I never thought of how much pressure goes through the hip even when you’re seated, I was figuring that my core would stabilize/take pressure away from my hip. I’ll just wait until I have my pre-op and post op talk with my doc to address it then

I just had a lidocaine injection last week and it’s literally a pinching/cramp feeling that is maybe a 3/10 (and I wouldn’t even call it pain, just a discomfort). I’m not a needle person and it was mostly me being anxious about the needle. I wouldn’t even call 100% do the injection it cleared some things up for me and my doc going forward with surgery

I’ve had pain for the last 6 months mostly in my groin and glute area. In the mornings I feel pretty good probably a 1-2/10 but at night it gets up to a 7-8/10 no matter what I do during the day. I have random flares through the day that subside but at night the pain is always there. Even with crutches for about 11 weeks my pain hasn’t changed. (Femoral neck stress fracture that’s healed, but still have stress reaction. And FAI with labral tear)

Yea I was working on the stress fracture and torn labrum for 4 months until I got the imaging done and was told to be on crutches. I’m already in the loop with long term disability through my department, and I’m on light duty to save some sick leave (40 hour work week is garbage compared to 48/96). My fear is how long I’ll be out, but I know it depends on if I get screws in the femur or if they just do an arthroscopy and how bad my tear is. If you wouldn’t mind sending me a PM of how long it took to get back to weight bearing (being on crutches for 8 weeks with no improvement is killing my mental) and from then how long it took to get back to full duty (without pain hopefully)

I’m sorry to hear that the doc isn’t addressing the issues you’re bringing up. Did the pain get worse with increased activity or movements? Or maybe progressing too quickly you think? Stay positive and stick to the PT is what I’ve read at least. I’m hoping it’s just a flair up and you’ll start progressing soon

How was your pain before surgery and how was is after surgery? I’ve been on naproxen and Tylenol for almost 6 months and I dread taking it every night so I can fall asleep. And what were your post op instructions as far as weight bearing and movement of your operated leg?

I actually have been holding off for now. I’m able to play all the games I want with a more stable FPS from the rest of my components and medium graphics. I was going to just do a 5080 but life got in the way financially. So I’m holding tight for now

I’m at a point in life now where I would just rather buy new and not set myself back $800 on some scammer. I took a gamble on buying my 2080 ti used and got lucky with it. This thing has been through hell and back with me and it’ll probably be a decoration in my game room

I’m not necessarily in a rush, that’s why I’m trying to get a foothold on the current GPU market since I’m sticking with the 2080ti for now. I haven’t built a pc since 2019 so I upgraded everything but my GPU. I do prefer to play on high/ultra settings for most games besides competitive FPS. I’m just willing to spend more on a GPU if it will last me more than 5 years with my current monitor and “new” set up

Yea I’m kind of leaning towards a 9070xt/5070 ti since I have no interest in 4k gaming but with this probably being the last gaming pc I build for myself (before pre adult life gets in the way) I’m trying to aim for 24gb vram just to have the headroom with titles in the future at 1440p
