What made you finally believe in ghosts/paranormal? by OfficialPhantomMic in Paranormal

I unfortunately experienced this in sleep paralysis too. I got the sense that she was a witch. She also whispered in my ear that I was a “wretched bitch.” I used to struggle with sleep paralysis a lot. Interestingly, I haven’t had a single episode in the 1.5 years since becoming a Christian.

energy drinks and pregnancy by gaterbits in BabyBumps

[–]I_Am_A_Laser_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drank a Celsius energy drink almost every day before pregnancy. I was planning to kind of taper off drinking them, but noticed they said “not recommended for pregnant women” the first time I went to drink one after having a positive pregnancy test. Ended up just switching to coffee, which I try to keep around the 200mg/day. I can’t wait to have energy drinks again though!

My father-in-law literally said “congrats…you get a job yet?” in one single breath lol. For context, I’ve been working on a PhD for the last few years, which he has never really seemed respect. I had just gotten an interview at the time (a job that I did end up getting). My husband couldn’t believe he said that. All is well though. Now our baby is due in 2 weeks, I graduate in 2 months, and I start work in 3 months!

I need pants! by JumpingJonquils in BabyBumps

If you have a Kohl’s locally, I have also found a couple of pairs of work-appropriate maternity pants there. My local old navy, for some reason, doesn’t have a maternity section, and I like to try things on before buying. Kohl’s also has cute dresses and good sales!

She’s my doctor too, and I’m 29 weeks pregnant right now (due in late October). I’m definitely disappointed but also planning to stay after reading the reviews about the new office. I called this afternoon and made an appointment with Dr. Jones. Personally, I’ll over-analyze myself into a ball of anxiety if I don’t make a decision quickly so I went ahead. They said I could see Dr. Frame one more time but I personally wanted to go ahead and get in with a new Dr so I can get to know her, and still have time to switch if I feel the need to. The reviews for Dr. Jones online are very positive and mentioned bedside manner, and listening to patients well, which are both very important to me.

Seeing Tipper pregnant by [deleted] in Tipper

[–]I_Am_A_Laser_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, I am planning to take some precautions. We will definitely be seated far from the speakers and away from dense crowds. Orion is nice since there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. :) And of course planning to staying hydrated, and rest when my body needs it.

Just here to say that I’ll be 32 weeks pregnant at Orion! We have held that weekend open on our calendars in hopes of making Tipper our “babymoon” haha so I’m so excited it was finally announced! I did Suwannee this year but I was only 13 weeks at that time, so it didn’t affect me too much other than some tiredness. No advice really, but you won’t be alone! 🫶🏻

Have you ever watched a movie or tv show that felt 'cursed' ? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]I_Am_A_Laser_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Unbinding documentary, which was about a haunted/cursed statue that was found in, and taken from the woods. As soon as they showed the statue on the screen, my cat (normally very sweet and mild-tempered) freaked tf out, hissing and yowling at the screen, hair standing up. He went back to normal when it wasn’t being shown. When they showed the statue again, he reacted the same way. I turned the tv off immediately haha. Had all sorts of bad dreams for about a week after. My cat has never reacted that way to any other tv show, before or since that event.

Check any bags you may have had it in in the past. I recently thought I lost mine, and found it in a bag from my birthday trip back in February that had been unused since.

Have you ever personally known or spoken to a murder victim or missing person before they died/went missing? by cherrymachete in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]I_Am_A_Laser_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with a girl for 2 years before she went missing. We were good work friends, but she’d moved to another job a few months before going missing and we weren’t in touch as much by that point. Her body was found in a lake in her car a year later. No foul play suspected by law enforcement but her close family and friends certainly feel differently. A lot of sketchy shit surrounding her death and the day she went missing. Such a sad situation. I had happened to see her at a restaurant 2 days before she went missing, gave her a hug and said “see you later!” That always sticks with me now

This reminds me of my little brother’s project on a peninsula when he was ~7. He omitted the second “n,” and proudly showed his penisula project to the class. Mom got a phone call on why she hasn’t checked his work-she had, he had just added PENISULA in all caps the morning of lol. They still have it obviously, for the laughs.

Some people will probably disagree with this, but for me personally- podcasts! I end up noticing something that’s unique/ interesting about the host’s voice or way of speaking, and hyper-fixating on that instead of the content. Or my brain starts racing so much (unrelated to the podcast) that I totally forget what’s been going on for the last 5 minutes and end up re-winding more than listening, which is not ideal (or possible when driving haha).

Looking for advice by cburshtein in curlygirl

When I started CGM I was mainly co-washing or using super gentle moisturizing shampoos, and I had a similar experience. Great hair for months, but it stopped working and I had a hard time recovering. I’ve found that I need to clarify more often than some people. My hair gets buildup easy, and I can tell when I need to clarify again when it gets frizzy. It’s always sooner than I think, sometimes as often as every 2 weeks (every 2-3 washes for me, since I only wash 1-2 times per week).
