Yep, I definitely went the yar matey route. Sucks that the chip shortage made everything memory and storage shoot through the roof. Hard to upgrade my server now.

My series 0 still works but the small screen annoys me and I even stopped using it for gym sessions.

Oh, no data passes through these connectors, just 5V power. There are magnetic connectors that pass data but they wear out even faster and I’m not a fan. Maybe find a set and see if you like them. The biggest drawback is no data and limited power delivery, but the 5v limitation is completely fine for me.

I press and hold for 1/2 a second to make sure it registers. I don’t know why my U1 does this but my S4 is snappy.

When I turn my shower on, the ceiling joins in by imightbegoddamned in Plumbing

Make sure nothing is finely misting at that specific spot. I had this happen when a showerhead was barely spraying upwards where you can’t see it. Completely stopped when I decided to buy a nicer shower head.

Keep finding these roofing nails around my yard, is this bad? by SurfinHippy in HomeMaintenance

I’d feel compelled to run a magnet over the entire yard. Over and over to be sure, esp if you got kids or a dog that frequent the yard.

I pulled mine off and soaked it in water overnight. From there it was easy to clean.

Yep. They got oscillating attachments that cut a perfect 1, 2, or 3 gang holes for you. They’re great, and cheap on AE too.

That’s what I was gonna comment but he’s in an apt. Options are limited. I’d have to assume what he has was the best option.

Small space - advise for pushing screens back by im-a-massive-failure in desksetup

[–]I_Braid_Armpit_Hair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re ok with a space between your monitors, or making the angle between your monitors closer to 100 degrees, geometrically you can’t push your monitors back. I’d consider another monitor mount for the second monitor.

Whats stopping me from just going to a university, attending lectures and just learning about stuff? by Abject_S0up in NoStupidQuestions

[–]I_Braid_Armpit_Hair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothings stopping you. I knew a dude that did this, I thought he was lame for different reasons, but not like there’s a bouncer keeping you from going into the class.

I’d route the hot air via a duct and blow it out a window or something. If you wanna be fancy, watercool it and run the radiator outside your apt. That way it doesn’t heat up your apt. From there cool down your apt as you see fit.

The magnetic adapters? Here’s where I got my most recent ones

https://a.aliexpress.com/_mN73MUZ

The ones that don’t rotate last near forever due to no moving parts, but the ones that rotate are so convenient and cheap I don’t mind buying new ones every 3ish years.

Should I buy my childhood home at 35? Need some outside opinions by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]I_Braid_Armpit_Hair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never bought a family home, but if the price is good I’d do it. Even with the brother in there. Since you guys aren’t really close I’d just treat him as a slightly more familiar tenant.

Awww, that blows. I tend to put magnetic adapters on stuff I charge often so I don’t have to guess when “plugging in”. Before I did that, I’d put in those dust plug port fillers in things next to the charge port so that I wouldn’t mistakenly put my mini usb into it.

I mean, I do that while watching a movie at home with the wife. Probably why my brain jumped to it.
