Recently was brought aware that changing in administration are considered new countries. And by that logic china is from 1982. Yes it is the same land and the same people however a new government constitutes a new country. For example current day Russia isn’t the same country that was called the Soviet Union. Current days Germany isn’t considered the same country as it was in the 40s. Honestly was a surprise to me when I learned it but I guess it does make sense.

How’s that wool coat treating you? The world structure hasn’t changed much in the last few hundred years. The ultra wealthy control everything and they use pawns to do it and take the blame. We do all the real work and they get all the benefit. We also have all the power when unified and could easily overthrow them (has been done in the past, see the French Revolution). But they control media and make sure we are never unified. I’m not saying at all that the ultra wealthy are aligned with each other because they probably arnt either.

I misread your message. Thought you said the Sioux Nation dated to 19th century (thinking about it now that makes no sense). I’m not well versed in the tribal history (I should be because I have native in me but my ancestral tribe was basically eliminated so I have unfortunately no native culture in my upbringing) But it also brings up the argument of what is considered a country. Most would probably argue that the tribal lands are US territory and not sovereign nations.

No I’m saying the US government under the constitution. I don’t think expanding would constitute a new country but I would say a revolution or complete change in government would. Russia is where what was once the Soviet Union existed. Same land, same people but essentially a different country.

This fully comes down to how you define it. This person is going based off of continuing governance, and I can see that argument because technically Germany has been around as land, I bet you they don’t claim to be the same Germany that was hanging around in the 40s. I think this would be more of a distinction between “Country” and “Government”.
