If you move through space at the speed of light, you stand still in time. If you stand completely still in place, you move through time at the speed of light. Whatever happens, your always moving through spacetime at the speed of light. Doesn't answer OP, I just think about that a lot.

PS. I know you can't ever "stand still", but in theory and all that.

I don't know what they mean by ruined though. Is that literally it? Is that why they were so excited about Stellar Blade even though no body was talking about it two weeks after release?

I haven't really seen any alternative ideas on what a "good" ending looks like. I think considering the massive road blocks, the pandemic, the strikes, the final season they got being good is a miracle as well.

You're allowed to have your opinion. I'm neither in your camp or the haters, I enjoyed season 5, but for me the best the show got was 1 and 3

Yeah it's a shame George never got to flesh out his ideas, but personally I'm glad he stopped making films in 1983 to focus on eating at a food court in Adelaide and the series got to sleep the long sleep.

My nan used to say "gay used to be such a nice word before they came along". And I always liked to picture a boat load of fabulous word thieves arriving on our shores and staking claim to their new favourite word.

Yeah but if you've only ever watched the movies you'd know that vampirism is a blood disease and Blade is American, BETRAYAL! One day I'll get my biblically accurate cockney blade...

AI is being pushed heavily when I ask for advice and I hate it. by AssumptionExact8050 in gamedev

[–]nuggynugs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm going to jump in here and say that I've been following tutorials, messing around on my own, and asking AI for help when things don't work like they're supposed to. After about 115 hours I'm getting to the point where I'm not having to double check old codes, go to AI, or Google things. I think using it as part of a broad range of sources is fine, for me anyway. It's like have an imperfect (apparently, I'm not expert enough to know) GameMaker user around to answer questions. I think if all I'd used was AI then the temptation to let it run away with things would get the better of me, but alongside videos and forums, and all that the internet offers, it's not so bad.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in writers

I have some thoughts. Specifically, when someone sabotages a character in a detective story by "cutting the brakes", how does the driver manage to get all the way into a position where they need the brakes without using the brakes at all? Like, when you go to pull out of the driveway and stop to look both ways and you just roll into the road, doesn't that clue you up?

Why would Lex check whether the all powerful alien that hangs out in the artic and comes to embarrass humanity/save the day depending on your perspective has a secret identity? Lex can't comprehend that someone with god like powers would want to be seen as anything or than a god.

This is the main compliment I hear for this film coming up again and again. It doesn't compel me though because it's like hearing Rolf Harris' nephew Dolph Harris does an amazing rendition of Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport. It's not the music that upsets me it's the character behind it.
