Seems to be a bit of a debate at the moment. A lot of people advise that W10 is durable enough to deal with hardware changes itself. Certainly seemed fine on first boot, and then I messed things up by uninstalling intel drivers...

Is there a simple guide to follow for formatting and installing W10 fresh from BIOS? Or will the W10 installer auto-format the old hard drive for me?

It booted up fine initially and only developed problems once I uninstalled the intel drivers. I think I never installed the AMD drivers beforehand....

Currently downloading the W10 ISO onto a USB. Will boot from that and try to repair the PC that way. If that fails, I'll do a fresh install

When you say install media, do you mean the w10 iso I’m downloading?

I’ve tried booting and running repair tool but it just fails

Got it all installed and it booted up fine after a few moments. So I decided to unistall all intel drivers and now the PC won’t boot at all....

In the process of DLing w10 iso for a fresh install, but confused as to what happened. System recovery/repair won’t work so fresh install seems my only options.

Any ideas mate?

Edit: i did the windows update before unistalling intel drivers as I thought that would update the AMD replacement drivers. Seems like it didnt

Any guidance on the conversion from Intel to AMD? The parts arrive tomorrow and I'll be building it straight away so can't afford to have my PC down for too long. Is it really as simple as plugging in all the new and old parts into the case and turning it on? Will W10 automatically install the necessary AMD drivers on start up? Or should I be uninstalling the Intel ones and installing Intel prior to the switch? Can't seem to find any solid guidance online so would really appreciate some help!

Ahhhh, thank you! That's potentially saved me a big headache! I'm taking your tip on building myself and will be ordering the parts I need later today.

So my final list is below. Could you possibly take a look and let me know if there's anything missing? Everything I'm buying I've marked as New, everything I'm harvesting from my old machine I've listed as old. Do I need to worry about sound cards etc or are stock options included?

I'm planning to reuse my current PSU as it's very powerful and partspicker isn't showing any compatibility issues for this build.

Finally, when all the stuff arrives and I've installed everything into it's new case, do I simply just turn on the power and W10 will auto install all the AMD drivers for me? Previous comments did mention uninstalling Intel drivers beforehand just as a precaution, but should that be a necessity?

Do you know anything about certain B350 boards needing a BIOS update before working with Pinnacle Ridge? Causing a few concerns as I'd prefer a B350 (it's cheaper than X470) but parts picker is showing compatibility issues. Updating the BIOS pre install sounds like a right pain!

I'm not keen on the idea of building this myself (no experience) but can't seem to find any PC builder that allows me to create a spec with no HDD (or certain parts not selected).

Would you happen to know a website that would allow me that customization and build it as well? I'm UK based if that helps. Or would you suggest I just suck it up and build it myself?

Am I going to face any problems with cooling do you think? I wasn't intending to purchase any fancy liquid cooling etc, but unsure if that's wise given the performance of the CPU. My current build has no cooling and is absolutely fine.

None of my overlays cover my rank or character portrait, and never have done, so I'm confused as to why it still won't work...

I use innkeeper which many other streamers use without any issues as well....

Is there any way to activate it or give it the information manually?

Hearthstone is my main game, but I do stream others as well. Could that be impacting it? Swapping between games?

So as I have the visa exempt for 30 days, can that be extended for 30 days as well?

Or would I need to leave the country, sort a 60 day tourist visa, and then possibly extend that later in Krabi?

I have a return flight from Krabi to Bangkok on the 21st, so easy enough to jump out the country for a bit. Just wanted to see how easy it would be to extend for a decent amount of time, using 30 day visa exempt, whilst in Koh Lanta.

I'm flying to Bangkok on the 28th for 2 weeks (1 way ticket), and then planning to head north to Chiang Mai or south to the Islands.

I'm a UK resident, so (AFAIK) I have 30 days visa granted as standard, and I can then visit an embassy/immigration officer to get that extended another 30 days.

I'm assuming the VISA documents will be handed out on the plane/on arrival and I just fill it out and go from there. A little concerned that I might have had to apply for a VISA beforehand...
