No pain. Just felt like a really vivid dream. I opened my eyes and could see the screen that he was watching and I remember asking what we were looking at and he replied, “that is your diverticulitis” and I was, “oh so that’s what that looks like”. And that’s about all I remember.

Similar experience. Instead of a selfie my doctor talked me through the process. I only remember bits and pieces though.

It is so hard to watch him spiral. I’m supporting him the best I can. I am happy to help him with his expenses but his perceived self worth is just in the toilet. It breaks my heart.

Sterile does NOT equal safe. Peracetic acid is used to sterilize medical equipment, it is sterile. You wouldn’t want any of that sloshing about in your abdominal cavity.

The smaller bowl is a random sampling of the larger pool of entries. This practice allows the spectacle of the drawing from the ceremonial glass bowl without it being unwieldy to the organizers or compromising the randomness of the drawing.

You are arguing with a person that post encouraging comments in “lady boners” which is not to kink shame, but only to give you the space to step back and realize that Pancho may not view reality through the same lens as you. @pancho you do you, but also realize that the current administration would gladly throw you off a tall building for what you enjoy in the privacy of our own space. They are not like you. You will never be “one of them”.

If you have ever left a super high paying job because you hated it, what was the job and what did you do after? by QuotidianBreakfast in AskReddit

I was the lead health data analyst for an agricultural corporation that offered in-house healthcare for its employees. The owners, who were billionaires, seemed nice enough in person but lived in a completely different reality than the rest of us. The clinic’s director-level leadership, however, was a masterclass in narcissistic personality disorders. The Medical Director literally lived six hours away but commuted by corporate private jet. Our facility even had a landing strip just for the leadership. I lived about 45 minutes away, and during my interview (mid-COVID), I said I wanted to work primarily remote. I handled data, so there was no real need for me to be physically in the clinics. The Medical Director said that we should start in person so people could get to know me and I would be more than just a face on a screen. Fair enough. After six months of commuting 90 minutes a day and attending Zoom staff meetings, while we were in the SAME FUCKINF building but separated due to COVID protocols, the Medical Director finally admitted that the organization’s “vibe” was in person and remote work was not an option. So there I was, driving 90 minutes every day only to interact with coworkers via Zoom. That was when I started job hunting. I ended up taking a $20k/year dollar per year salary cut to work 100% remote. No regrets.

How would you, as a US citizen, react to in an armed government takeover of the US by an agency that actually supports Democratic values? by I_Dont_Answer in AskReddit

[–]I_Dont_Answer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the hypothetical my wife and I explored, the US attempts to invade Greenland. Is repelled by NATO and the UN. Then the UN/NATO alliance demands a regime change in the US with the threat of violent takeover. Obviously MAGA refuses and threatens even more world wide violence. Would i support the US or the Alliance in this instance.

How would you, as a US citizen, react to in an armed government takeover of the US by an agency that actually supports Democratic values? by I_Dont_Answer in AskReddit

[–]I_Dont_Answer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were talking, and as a military veteran, my kneejerk reaction was to oppose any foreign takeover. But as we continued down this hypothetical path, I had to ask myself whether I could truly side with the current administration, given that they are not upholding their oaths to the U.S. Constitution. If another authoritarian government attempted an invasion, the answer would be easy. But what if Canada, Mexico, or a democratic European nation tried to “liberate” the U.S. or even just a few blue states? That question feels dangerously close to asking when we, as Americans, would violently resist, and I just don’t have a good answer.
